  I am in my 90's so a lightweight, virtually unbreakable, decent sized mug complete with a lid is something I have been looking for. Carrying an ordinary mug whilst using a walking stick or a Zimmer is not easy as the contents can splash over; having a lid prevents this from happening. With the easily removable lid in place the contents stay a good heat for some considerable time, certainly from the beginning of a meal until the end. The lid also has a drinking hole which can be opened and closed at will; a very useful measure as it is not always safe or convenient to remove the lid. I do not know if the lid is leakproof as I only need it to be safe to carry. The handle of the mug is a good size, all fingers fit through the handle.The mug itself is a very pleasing shape. As a woman I perhaps would have liked it to have been just a little smaller but its size means than it is also ideal for soup. In case anyone is wondering - tomato soup does not stain the interior of the mug!

  These are so handy when camping! My tea stayed hot whilst chasing the dog round a field after he slipped his lead. My gin stayed cold in 20 degree heat when I had to talk a mile there and back to the toilets already half cut. And no bugs in my drinks!Screw you, wasps

  Not Leak Proof But Still A Really Good Mug

  I purchased these mugs for myself and my mother, but I'm writing this from my own experience. I've had my first coffee out of it and firstly, I like how the hole in the lid makes my coffee far more drinkable rather than it gushing out like I'm drinking from the Niagara Falls and I end up with 3rd degree burns. The design feels like a proper mug and it keeps my coffee nice and hot for a good while, which is important because I live in a house that's as cold as the Antarctic (and that's in summer), so good insulation is key. On the downside, I tested the lid using plain hot water prior to making my sacred coffee and it's not leak proof as it's stated in the description. However, the seal is good meaning it doesn't leak while drinking from the mug, but it'd be unsuitable for storing and carrying a prepared drink in a bag. Over all, it's a very good mug, and I'm more than pleased with the product.

  Keep a lid on it!

  You know what happens. You make a cup of tea and sit at your computer. After 15 minutes you realise your tea has gone cold.At first I thought these cups were marginally better that some of my other mugs but then I realised that maybe I should try the lid! What a difference! Standard procedure: boil the kettle, put some in the cup to warm it, put the lid on and shake it for 15 seconds, empty and place tea bag in it, put the lid on!The tea brews like it was in a warmed tea-pot. Tea bag out, milk in, lid on!I still forget to drink the tea but I'm amazed that with the lid on it is still warm enough to drink after 20-30 minutes.Can the lid leak? I don't care.

  More suited to camping than home use

  Bought these for an elderly uncle (97) for two main reasons 1) in case he knocked the cup over and 2) to keep his drink warm. I found that if the cup was knocked over that the liquid leeked out quite quickly even with the drinking aperture closed. With the lid on and the aperture mainly closed it did keep the drink warm for quite a while but with the lid removed it was not a lot better tha an ordinary mug its performance in a camping situation would probably be a lot better than an ordinary mug and any spillage not so important. Being stainless I would say it is a lot more robust than cramic and better to drink out of than plastic.

  I wanted a mug to keep my drinks hot........these do the job excellently.I don't know how leakproof they would be in a bag but as I don't need them to be, it's irrelevant to me. However the seal is good and doesn't leak when drinking.I have painful joints and unreliable thumbs......these mugs fit snuggly in my hands and don't slip as my hand fits comfortably through the handle.They are lightweight yet sturdy.I came here to reorder but they're out of stock. ?I would highly recommend ?

  For the money they are flawless, these cups are easy worth £20 so the seller is giving you a bargain! I love these cups, they far exceeded my expectations… after me looking at them for weeks, but!, the round handle feels a bit weird at first and although they can be put in the dish washed the weld round the handle can allow water to get in to the Vacuum area, however, unlike plastic travel mugs you can put these in the oven to boil the water back out, bare in mind only the tiniest amount got in to one of mine but 10 minutes in the oven while doing my tea sorted that.Pros:Well madeFriendly to the environmentHave no plastic making the cup and no plastic taste to the liquidThe cups maintain their heat significantly longer than the plastic travel cupsStainless steel is relatively germ and bacteria free so ideal for gardening, outdoors/ camping, in the carLid stays on very well so again ideal for in the carCons: first time use may have you thinking they have an odd taste but that goes, use them once or twice and that “metal cup” taste goeswater can over time enter the Vacuum from putting them in the dish washer The hot drink can stay hot a little too long, I estimate it is around 1 1/2 hours before it is drinkable with the lid left on,Am I happy with these cups: YESSSS! They are fantastic, you can forget you made a brew and come back later and find it’s still warm.Thank you seller for offering such a bargain item on here that is genuine value for money

  Perfect for what I need. Not leak proof.

  My son was recently born and because of feeding and attention, I couldn’t enjoy a hot coffee and didn’t think I would ever again. I also broke my treasured 16oz mug while he was struggling for whatever.The only thing I wanted was a mug that would do two things: retain heat longer, and not break when dropped. This mug does both of these things, and I’m extremely satisfied.Note. The lid does not make the mug leak proof. It’s leak resistant, and will still dribble out if you shake it gently. This mug is not recommended for carrying your coffee in a backpack or something, unfortunately - unless you provide your own, better lid.

  Lid is not spill proof or leak proof

  The look and shape of the cup is smart and sleek, with a good sized handle. I bought this for my husband who suffers with involuntary movement in his hands, as it states a spill proof, leak proof lid. Unfortunately I didn't get as far as finding out if it keeps its warmth or not, because when I tested the lid first using water, the liquid literally poured out. It is not spill proof, it is not leak proof. Returned and refunded.,

  These mugs have slightly lesser inner volume than the ThermosCafe travel mugs I had before, meaning I just have to turn my Breville hotcup machine down one notch to leave room for milk. But you get two of them in the price and they are much easier to clean than the ThermosCafe as you can immerse them in water and even stick them in the dishwasher. The lids are fine, but I don't use them. Quite happy with my purchase :)
