Fab pan and just what I needed
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 March 2019
I cook a lot of pot dishes and freeze portions so my family can have healthy home cooked meals during the week when I have very little time. I have been looking for something big enough to hold all the ingredients and still have room for me to mix/stir the pot without everything coming over the sides. I saw this on a TV advert but couldn't find it on the internet at first so called Tefal and they told me it would shortly be on the Web. It doesn't stick, cleans fantastically well. So far I can't fault it as it makes my batch cooking so easy.

One Pan to rule them all - so many uses
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2019
Love love love this panDeep sides and huge cooking surface make it very very versatileFrying - huge area to cook and deep sides to reduce splatterBatch cooking - 1kg mince, 300g bacon, 500g carrots, onions, water. All sitting beautifully in the pan. Stirring without splashing. Browning the mince was such a delight.Easy to clean - the super tough coating suffered well when i burnt the mince. Indeed as my other non stick pans wear out they will be traded in for this coating. The squarish shape is excellent. Things do not catch in the corners. And makes frying bacon easier.I have not tried to steam yet. But this beast could swallow a chicken whole and have room for vege. Or a lovely ham hock.Small negative the knob on the glass lid is hot. But this is what makes it oven safe. This was bought on special offer. Knowing what i know now i would happily buy it full price.

Takes far too long to heat up, awkward shape, oil runs to the edges of the pan
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 September 2019
After reading the instructions and all the warnings about not using it on a high heat (but don't worry they said, most food doesn't need a high heat to cook) I tried it out. I turned on my ceramic hob to 5 (max is 9) and put some oil in the pan and waited for the Thermospot thingy to change. And I waited, "has it changed yet?" I asked my other half, "nope, still the same", "what about now? I'm sure the bits are turning red", they were not. I put my hand over the pan and it was barely warm.I thought the Thermospot thingy must have changed and we just miss read it, so I put a few chopped onions in. They sat there motionless on a dry base as the pan is not entirely flat so oil runs out to the sides. Gave it a stir. Nothing. It was ten minutes since I turned it on. Thinking how ridiculous this was I put another pan on, about same circumference with a similar weighted base. As the ceramic hob was already hot, my onions were sizzling away in less than a minute. As soon as I poured the oil into the pan I could see it start to thin and shimmer almost instantly.Maybe it was just a one off. I tried again, this time to make popcorn, a simple familiar test that I have made many times before. A medium heat, put a couple of kernels in the oil and wait for them to pop, then you know it is up to temp.Ten minutes went by, I cranked the heat up full as I was getting pretty annoyed by now. Finally they popped, so in the rest of the kernels went. It took sooooo long for them all to pop the first bits that popped had burned. It was the worst popped corn I have made in a long time, they were really small tight chewy puffs (some burnt), not the usual big fluffy white puffs I usually get.I did try making a sauce, that went ok but again it was so slow to heat up, and it felt like parts of the pan were not hot at all, the heat distribution is appalling. I used a steel ruler to see if the bottom was flat, it did have a slight concave to it.I do have a fairly large oven, and whilst it did fit at an angle, the sharp end of the handle was only millimeters from the side and had to be positioned so it was between the rack guides.Blinded by all the amazing reviews I expected so much more from this pan, I wanted it to be my "go to", but I have not used it more than the three times mentioned. Maybe it is my heat source (ceramic) and it might be fine on others, but for me. Nope.

Base is bowed to centre, liquids flow to edge, not good
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2019
Base internally is bowed, rises in centre so any liquid migrated to the edges...no use if frying an egg in middle as it mother's to the edge. Await phone lines opening tomorrow for Tefal's helpline, if response unsatisfactory I'll be returning for refund. Update, spoke to Tefal, advised has slight bow from centre to sides when cold, should flatten when heated-if it doesn't, pan is faulty. tried that, curve remains, liquid /oil flows to edges, not for me so returning.

Great multi function pan for all hob types
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 March 2019
This all in one pan, is good for frying, boiling and steaming and anything else in-between.It is suitable for Induction hobs and says this clearly on the underneath. The pan is a really good weight. The handles are firm and solid and comfortable to hold. The pan is nice and deep and can be used as a steamer if you put the steamer lid into it using the little feet.I have found this brilliant for making chilli!, I can brown off the initial ingredients, then just add everything else.It also can go into the oven but I haven't done this.It is non stick and easy to clean. You also receive a recipe booklet in the box and this isn't just a leaflet. It's a proper little book which gives you lots of one pan ideas for use from sweet to savory.Overall, this pan is great. You can use it for many things so you can do away with a few other pans you might have!

    Versatile pan
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2019
Bought this as my very old tefal frying pan had started to lose its non stick. Wanted a frying pan for usual eggs and bacon but also to use for chilli or stir fry or stew. This is great for all. It is big but that's why I bought it and it will go in my oven to. Defo worth measuring though as handle is long and it only just fits.

    My Lovely Pan
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 January 2021
I bought my Tefal Frying Pan last August, but wanted to give it a good test before writing a full review. I'm happy to say that I love this pan.Originally purchased to stop fat splashing on the cooker, it's very versatile and large enough for making stews, pasta dishes etc. And it does protect the hob from most of the splatters, so less cleaning. Great for stir fries. Large enough for a couple of steaks, fried onion, tomatoes, mushrooms with room to spare. My only worry was the weight as I have problems with my hand joints. It's large enough, but not too heavy. Luckily, the handle on the front, makes lifting easy, even with contents. Watch though, as both can get very hot as metal conducts the heat. Just be aware. The handle design is great though and very solid.I treat it with great care - only using wooden or silicone implements - NEVER use metal or scratchy things in it, but I wouldn't anyway with non-stick pans. I don't scrape hard at all as I want it to last.Once I've finished cooking, I boil a kettle and soak the pan on the cooker. Then I add a little amount of washing up liquid and bring the pan back to the boil, soak a little longer then rinse and wash. I can manage to lift it safely half full of water to the sink.I know it can also go in the oven, however it would need to be a largish one. It doesn't fit in mine at all, but I never bought it for that purpose, so doesn't bother me.I would say this is one of the best things I've bought for the kitchen and it has made life a lot easier. I love cooking with it.

    Good in parts
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 February 2020
This is a reasonable saucepan, but the lid is a pain and the handles are not great.Heat distribution is fine and I haven’t found there are any hot spots. I tend to use the lid most days, but it only fits in one position, by which I mean that you cannot tilt it slightly to let steam out (the vent doesn’t do a very good job). It crashes into the pan if I try to tilt it and the only option is either to remove it completely or turn it through 45 degrees so that it straddles the corners - and then water drips from it over the hob. The handle on the top of the lid gets very hot, even after a short time of use and you need oven gloves to take it off to stir contents. The main handle also gets hot, although that takes a bit longer. The extra handle on the side of the pan makes lifting it a breeze, even when full, but it adds extra bulk to an already large saucepan and good luck fitting it in your oven; I have a range and it won’t fit inside any of my ovens. The saucepan has a lightweight feel that borders on flimsy and I am not convinced it will last an awful lot longer (I have had it for around 6 months). I didn’t use the stainless steel extras, finding them poor quality and those have already been sent for recycling.I wash mine in the dishwasher and it’s size means there is not a lot of space for anything else. The handle accumulates loads of water during the cycle and needs to drain afterwards, so it isn’t really dishwasher safe. I used my saucepan regularly for the first few weeks of ownership, but the problems with the lid (hot handle, inability to tilt) have meant I reach for alternatives most of the time, particularly when I am cooking a larger meal when dishwasher space is at a premium. It is okay, but more of a pain than a useful item.

    Easy Clean, Lots of Uses
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2020
This pan is a good size, has the teal hotspot to show when it has reached temperature to start cooking, so no trying to cook items before the pan is hot enough. We have used it a couple of times, one for a stir-fry, and another for a curry, both cooked to perfection, with fresh meat and vegetables. Nothing stuck to the pan, a lot less mess than with our old stir-fry pan, also a less oil required, so a bonus. The recipe book that comes with the pan has lots of nice recipes, which we are going to try, from Bakewell Pudding to a pork chop recipe. All look amazing and the ingredients give you a well balance meal. having a square shape is very different, but the corners are more rounded so not somewhere food is going to get stuck. We haven't tried the steamer yet, or used the metal drain utensil that is included in the box, but we will eventually, given time, this is going to replace two other pans we have had for a while and it is so light, even with my Arthritis I can lift it.

Doesn't fit in a standard oven
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2019
I haven't used it yet so can't comment on how how it cooks but I'm so disappointed that it doesn't fit in the oven - especially as it comes with a cook book with lovely oven baked recipes. It seems that it would be much better with the same shorter handles on both sides so it could fit in the oven and would be safer to pick up too, especially when hot.
