Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 December 2019Great buy!!I have recently converted my single garage into a room for my dogs and with colder weather approaching I wanted to make sure they weren't too cold, particularly overnight. I dithered for ages about choosing an electric heater for them. I had a house fire this year which has made me very nervous of fires and in my experience dog hair tends to get into electric heaters and singe, and most electric heaters say they should be used around small children/pets etc due to risk of burns.I eventually settled on this heater, it ticked the boxes for me in that it is wall mountable, has a safety switch off and controllable thermostat. The reviews were good and price reasonable and added bonus for dogs was that it was bathroom safe (messy dogs!).I haven't gotten round to wall mounting it yet so I can't comment on that but had no trouble getting out on to the movable stand and setting up the timers. I particularly like that I can set it lower for during the day when it is warmer. Considering it's size it does heat the room quickly and gives out enough warmth to keep the garage just a good 16/ 17 degrees which is cosy for my beloved dugs. I do try to turn it off for a few hours but some times it can run for 12-14 hours at a time without over heating (Not recommending that anyone else should!). The front panel gets warm but not hot - I have no worries the dogs will get burned. Its design also means I haven't had the singed dog hair smell that I have experienced with other small electric heaters.Been spot on for what I was after, a good purchase. I'm not one for reviews usually but was pleased with this enough. A bit miffed I got expandable foam accidentally on the front of it and marked it as its actually quite nice looking, clean lines and modern.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2018Effective heater!Used 1000w to replace a noisy and dated ‘kick plate’ fan heater in the kitchen. Very effective in the mornings to give a boost to the central heating radiator in the adjoining utility room! I’m not dull but I found the leaflet explaining the timer very complicated. May have another go at grasping the ins and outs of using the timer at a later date. However, I have just used the manual switch for up to an hour in the morning and it has been very effective getting the kitchen temperature up quickly. Frankly that is all I wanted it to achieve. Just be careful when fitting under a kitchen work surface, to allow enough clearance above to allow the warm air to circulate properly. (See photo). If the understanding of the timer had been clearer, I would have given it 5 Stars!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 February 2021Completely unprogrammable - don't be misledNot a bad little heater, but don't be misled, it is not programmable in any sensible way. I wrote to the manufacturer to get better instructions and got this response:The heater has a setback timer which means that you are going to set an amount of hours that you want the heater to drop in temperature. For example if you want the heater to drop in temperature between 9am and 5pm you need to physically be at the heater at 9am, choose the day you require to program (Monday = 1 through to Sunday = 7). Then you enter the temperature you want it drop to, then you set how many hours you want it to drop in temperature for so using the current example you would enter 8. It would then setback for 8 hours on the day you have set.I need the heater to be on office hours only, so this is no use at all. This heater is too heavy to return at my own expense so have had to buy a separate timer for it to operate at the hours I want.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2016So good I'm getting another one.Delighted with this heater. I keep it on virtually all the time, although have programmed it to come on and off sometimes before it was so cold and this works very well. Just keep it quite highh by day now the weather is cold, and turn it down to ticking over at night. It's in the hall and keeps 2 bedrooms, my study and the bathroom at a nice temperature. My friend was so impressed at the difference it has made to one end of my bungalow, that she has bought one herself. I'm about to order another one myself for when we haven't got the solid fuel heating on the other end of the bungalow. It is neat and unobtrusive. Was going to mount it on the wall but it stands nicely on its feet up againt the wall so havent bothered. Service was good, came quite quickly and no fuss. All in all a very good buy as is clear from the fact I am going to get another one.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2017Great little heater. This is a great heater, very efficient and neat. The heater is supplied with feet if you prefer to keep it free standing but is easily wall mounted.Ours is used in a cold conservatory and makes a huge difference.Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 January 2019!!!!! Need to buy separate Timer !!!!!Product came very quickly and looked good, easy to fit to wall,Timer is not great if you need it to be set to come on and off a couple of times a day and different times on different days you will need to buy a separate timer. Before we bought it we checked questions from other customers and the answers from the seller lead us to believe it would do all we needed without buying a separate timer. Disappointed
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 April 2018Noisy, great heatHeats small bedroom great but makes the most awful noises when on and either heating up or cooling down. If you are a light sleeper definitely not for your bedroom.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 November 2019Warms a large roomThis warms a very large loft room with ease and fairly quickly at that. It would be great to be able to program the timer more easily, we don't bother using it anymore as it's not that functional or easy to use, but setting a desired temperature works perfectly with it maintaining the warmth in the room. The electric bill was definitely higher, but was worth it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 September 2016Looks great.Looks very neat on the wall of our conservatory. It was very easy to fix and works well. The price was good value for money paid. well pleased with the output from this great small heater. We are thinking of a second one for the summer house ready for the winter, Thank-you.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 December 2020Very impressed....We live in a bungalow with a large master bedroom with a radiator only one end. The room at the end always feels cold because of 2 outside walls with 2 large windows. My husband suggested getting this heater as oppose to installing another radiator. We have fixed it to the wall (with the included wall fixings) under the window. I have done it one side so when you walk in the room you don’t see it because of the bed.I am really impressed. It’s a really powerful unit for the size. It’s slim and fuss free. You can set the temperature and the function I really like is that it automatically cuts out the power if it recognises you have opened the window. Highly recommend and has solved an issue inexpensively.
Customer questions and answers
- Does it have a 3 pin plug - need for portugalComes with a standard UK 3 pin plug
- Is the heat blown out of the topNo, it's a convector heater. No fan, heat rises as the name suggests by convection, and so mostly from the grille on the top.
- How expensive are these to run ?Electricity is pretty much 20p/ kWh now so that would be 20p per 1000w so it is 40p/ hour on full as it is a 2000w heater
- Is this heater suitable for bathroomsIt's described as "Bathroom Safe" so how can it not be suitable for a bathroom?
