The difference in my experience is that this one worked - others had to be returned with faulty thermal cut-outs which I assume to be a batch fault.

Unfortunately, the “log effect” is not very visible unless you stand up and look directly down on the appliance.The flickering light is OK but I wanted to appreciate the cosy appearance of the log effect when seated.Customers beware! You have to arrange your own courier service for the return which is not straightforward.

But I have four different fan heaters of various shapes and sizes and this is quieter than all of them.The fire effect is nice. It's not a mind-blowing illusion but at a glance, it's almost fire-like.There is no glass in the 'door'. It's just flat glass over the top of the 'coals' and will likely work as a dust magnet.Yes it's 10x the price of a typical fan heater. But it looks 100x better.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 September 2019Very large fire. 3 stars only because I can’t comment on output etc.I didn’t even take it out of the packaging it is a very large fire and I stupidly didn’t measure it, needless to say it didn’t fit my fireplace. I now have to pay to return it. My own fault, so can’t comment on heat etc but it looks a nice design.

- Is it noisyHow we react to noise is very personal but for me I find the noise of the fan very quiet and not at all intrusive.
- Is there a video of the flame effect?Unfortunately not at this moment in time, please keep an eye out on the listing for further updates.
- Can this be placed in a fire place or recessed area ?Yes you could place it in a recess but the buttons to operate it are on the rear so you would need to move it to access them.
- Is this an infrared heater?It is a convection fan heater. It does make a noise.
