    Still a awesome heater
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 December 2020
EDIT! Still awesome after a few months keep temps steady and no issues at all. Ok this things awesome, I was looking for a small heater to replace a 1500w oil radiator. Was sceptical about this one as its not cheap but dang I'm glad I risked it. Initial plug in is easy simply unbox and go, I whacked it up full and within a minute it was booming rather than half hour for a oil one. I'm using it in a 3x3 shed and it's more that enough to keep temps at 25c on less than half power, the thermostat works well and it's so small it's a doddle to move around. So if you need a small heater I'd recommend this for a caravan, outhouse or shed in my case

    perfect for #van life
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2019
brought this to get through the winter when in the van. not as satisfying as the propex in terms of instant blown air heating but kept me comfortable and not getting hypothermia when the propex stopped working. Also managed to get the van up to 25 degrees with this from 10 in under an hr. I now leave it in the van as a backup as its quite small so good for limited space. recommended for anyone that has a campervan or caravan and wants a backup or will have site hook up's regularly.

    Light and cools quickly
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 January 2018
Bought for a Campervan. Very toasty on low. I decided oil free is a good choice, in this case. It heats quickly but even more useful, is that it cools quickly for packing after use. Light weight. But note the size. Bit bigger than the mini oil radiators I had seen. So you may want to consider this before deciding. Oil radiators are good if a bit heavier and slightly slower to heat up. This is also very stable, not having wobbly plastic wheels.

Good heater but mine had a slight cosmetic fault
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 September 2021
This looks like being a good little heater — it's small and pleasing in appearance, warms up quickly, and there's a dial to adjust the heat setting rather than simply on/off or hi/lo.My only disappointment was a small fault which is only cosmetic and does not affect the function — the end casing affixed to the body of the heater, onto which the foot is screwed, is slightly malformed at one end and cannot be made to sit neatly in place. There's a gap. It's not broken, and it was carefully packaged with protective polystyrene inside the box; it must have left the factory like it, I think. We carefully unscrewed the casing and reassembled it but it's just a bit awry and we couldn't fix it.I decided it was a first-world problem, and over the top to require a delivery man to come out all over again to get a replacement; I've positioned it so that side is to the back. But it is a minor irritation, especially as this model is much more expensive than some of similar size — I bought it because I think it's so pretty.I don't know how well it will perform once the cold weather comes, but it certainly functions fine and sits neatly in the space next to my bed. It's really light to pick up and move, which I like, comes with an instruction sheet, and the on/off switch and setting dial are clear and easy to get to.

    Cheap to run
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 May 2019
Being only 750 Watts I didn’tHold up much hope of it being warm.... what a surprise I got. Bought for caravan absolutely ideal. When you first put it on expect some smoke and a weird smell as it burns off the dust. After a few minutes it’s fine. Going strong and cheap to run

Low running costs, bags of heat.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 December 2015
Super little heater, despite what other negative commenters have put this emits a lot of heat for its size! It is only 700 watts after all. Not 2000 or 3000 watts like most heaters are.I currently have it in a 14 x 10 room and it easily sits around 20 degrees all day (Mid December)Would recommend to anyone for a low cost efficient heater.

Great little heater, until the on/off switch broke!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 February 2021
I bought this little Dimplex Eco Chico heater to heat the small box-room in our house. Its 0.7kW (700 Watt) heat output was more than up to the job. However, I was disappointed that the flimsy red plastic on/off switch broke a little after one year of use - see photo. With a broken on/off switch I obviously can't operate the heater - rendering it useless. Be warned! I do expect a heater costing over £55 to work for longer than one year....

This is perfect for a small room
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 December 2017
This is perfect for a small room. For example, I’m staying at my parents whilst our house is being renovated. Their very small spare room is around 11ft by 11ft and it warms the room up nicely. I also previously bought the next size up and that’s great too. That can heat up a really large room! The only thing I’ve had to do is mark a black dot on the dial. You can’t tell what temperature you’re setting the radiation to. Apart from that, it is what it is and it does the job.

  • How much per hour does this cost to use?
at standard 15.8p kwph cost it's around 12p per hour whilst on constantly. It will flick on and off with the thermostat though
  • Is the heater silent?
Yes, the heater is silent. The only noise is a small click when the thermostat goes on and off.
  • what are the benefits of an oil free radiator as opposed to an oil filled radiator
