    Brilliant!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2020
Like many people I've been working from home for the last few months, and whilst the utility room I set my desk up in was fine in the summer, it became absolutely freezing in the winter. I'd been using a fan heater but it was expensive to run, and more than anything it was noisy, and as I run training courses the constant background noise was a problem. This radiator is an absolute cracker. It arrives fully assembled, so you don't have to attach wheels or anything - just take it out of the box, unfold the wheels (they're hinged and tucked away underneath the unit), plug it in and away you go. It isn't too heavy - about 10 kilos - and is easy to move around thanks to the wheels. As with all heaters there's an initial "new" smell, but this burns off after a while - a label attached to the flex near the plug tells you to turn it to the highest power and leave it on for at least two hours in a ventilated room and the smell will go away. In terms of controls it's simple - the top dial is a thermostat, the second one is a power setting (off, low, medium, high), and below this is a rotary 24hr timer, so you can leave it plugged in all the time if you want and it will come on and turn off when you want it to. The timer can be overridden thanks to a three state switch in the middle of the dial (on, off, timer). In use the majority of the heat comes from the top of the unit, so if you place it under a desk it will be really warm around your legs and feet, but the whole thing gets hot. It also seems cheap to run too - my smart meter remains in the green section while it is running. Also there is absolutely no noise from the radiator at all, but as with "normal" central heating radiators when the unit has been on for a while and you turn it off it does make some click or low clang noises as it cools. In case it helps, the room I use the radiator in is a concrete floored utility room at the side of the house, with no other heating (OK, there's a tiny radiator about the size of an A4 pad at one end), a non-insulated flat roof, and has double glazed windows at either end. The size of the room is approx 14 square metres, with a ceiling height of about 2.5 metres at the highest and 2 metres at the lowest side. If I have the radiator in the middle of the room, on the highest temperature and the highest power, and the doors of the room closed, when I step in the heat hits you. Having the thermostat on about three quarters of the way round and the radiator on medium power is absolutely ideal for the room and makes it comfortable to work in all day.

I had an old one of these from 1994 which lasted until 2017, it was great. I read loads of reviews about this and many other makes of oil filled radiators when buying a new one, including which reports, and felt every single one on the market had a lot of bad reviews, including this one and it's newer model. This had the least bad reviews. When I got it, it was great... for about a week. Then it developed a loud clunking sound whenever it went on or off with the thermostat. Kept me awake at night, however, as i'd already done the research I decided maybe this was a faulty one and called amazon for a replacement within the exchange period. The new one works perfectly and I love it! So that's what I suggest others do, test it as much as possible when you get it.

    Excellent! Now have 3.

Originally bought one a few weeks ago after some research and now just bought two more (all thru Amazon). Delivery and packaging; arrived next day...no issues.Product; Excellent! Yes they are more expensive (these are an excellent price) than the vast numbers on sale but these have a range of control that suits our rooms (haven’t used the timers yet) and sounds daft but the heat is better; more radiant. I guess you get what you pay for. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

    Fantastic , silent radiator !
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2019
We needed a quick heating fix in cold snap as our under floor heating had broken. We already have the “bambino ‘ and loved it. Radiator arrived well packed and ready to go . All you do is flip wheels up and switch on . Haven’t had time to set timer yet but it looks pretty straight forward. Don’t be put off by the slight “ hot oil “ smell which lasts max 2 hours, it soon goes and the radiator is totally odourless and silent . Came down this morning to snow and sub zero temperatures outside but a very warm and cosy kitchen . Its a perfect radiator and couldn’t recommend it highly enough .

    Pretty good

Radiator clicks loudly as it heats up / cools down. This means that relying on the thermostat to regulate its use, causes the radiator to click constantly all evening.Badly designed.Update: After using it in earnest for a bit longer, the clicking of the radiator heating up and cooling down has stopped. And once the smell also finally left, its turned into a very reliable little heater.

Good radiator gives out loads off heat
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2019
Have a working replacement now and it's great gives out allot more heat than the previous oil filled radiator I had which was a cheaper one with 7 thin metal fins. Can easily heat a bigger room unlike my old one which took ages to heat up the room. The larger surface area and design mean it outputs allot of heat vertically up from the radiator. Initially Bought radiator and the timer didn't work when I first tried it but Amazon said I had to arrange my own return with no option for them to arrange return. Given size and weight and after allot of shopping around the cheapest I could find was £12.90 to return it but Amazon only refund £4.75 for return delivery so ended up paying £8.15 due to Amazon sending me a faulty radiator.Edit: after complaining to customer service I got full refund for delivery costs.

Excellent Radiators - Incompetent Delivery Chain
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 January 2021
I currently own three of these 2kW heaters, which are very stylish and provide excellent heat output, no doubt enhanced by the chimney effect of the panel design. Gone are the days of wobbly-wheeled radiators which used to bend under their own weight; the folding caster wheels on these seem quite sturdy and enable the radiator to be moved across carpeted areas without a problem, albeit slightly hindered by a single handhold. For myself, the mechanical time-switch is a bonus, being simply operated by flicking in or out the quarter-hourly pegs. Its pattern of settings can be easily seen without the need for wading through menus and settings of those radiators having digital settings. Some reviewers, appear to be affected by the smell when hot, which has not been a problem on any of my own, following an initial burn off; the recommendation for doing this is for an initial operation at full heat for 2 hours. These radiators appear to be very quiet in operation, apart from an occasional, yet typical, unobtrusive on-off thermostat, or time-switch click.A useful note for those chasing energy efficiency, is to operate these at the lowest of the three selectable heat output settings which is capable of heating your space to the desired level and to set the thermostat accordingly, in other words do not operate the radiator unnecessarily at the highest heat output, causing frequent on-off cycling.I am of the opinion that the review of an item should provide enough information for prospective purchasers to make an informed decision, and as such it should encompass more than just how the item operates, but also the buying experience itself right through to delivery and customer services should there be a fault.Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, both my recent radiators were also received with dented side panels, which in my opinion are the fault of either the manufacturer for not providing suitable packaging with side impact protection, or the mishandling in storage, or mishandling by delivery courier. An additional let down in the buying experience was caused by the delivery chain itself; although sold by Amazon, the radiators were not delivered by their own courier, but by a third party, who managed to leave my radiators outside at an incorrect address, unbeknown to the owner at that location at the time. The third party courier then added insult to injury by claiming that they were handed directly to me and signed by me!I must however complement Amazon Customer Services, for their swift response and offer of two replacement radiators or a refund. This was not taken up as we managed to track down the location of the missing radiators at a nearby property which was being renovated from the photo where the courier had left them!!So summing up, excellent radiators, incompetent delivery chain.

At last the conservatory is warm
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 November 2020
For several years we have looked at getting a heater for our 4m x 3m conservatory, as my sisters plants have to come in the warm every winter, After much research we found this one. My biggest thing I wanted was it to run on a thermometer so it could be switched on and it would switch on and off at the correct temprature. After a week of try outs, we have decided that the most efficient way to use it, is to leave it on the lowest and it keeps the room at 62 degrees, it worls out between 10 and 20 pence an hour, and obviously when it reaches the temp, it is even cheaper! Tis is and excellent warming heater well worth the money! And, it saves the orchids from being on the dining table during the winter!

  • Is this heater quiet? Will the "Venturi Effect" generate noise?
Very noisy for me - not so much in use, but when cooling very loud bangs, it can be heard on another floor in the house
  • It has a strong strange smell filled the whole house. Is this normal?
If it is the first time it has been used there may initially be a hot paint smell, but it soon goes. We didn't experience anything that caused us concern. • Is this heater noisy when it is on? i would like to use it in a conservatory and have it on as the same time as the tv. thank you
I wouldn't say its noisy. When first putting it on it does make a few creaking sounds with the oil heating up and once again when switching it off but overall when it's on its fine. Great heater, realisable, heats up fairly quick good value, overall great product. I would recommend this product all day long. Hope this … see more I wouldn't say its noisy. • Any one know how much it cost per hour to run?
From memory i think it is a 2 kw unit so if you pay typically 20p per kwh it will cost you 40p / hr at full power.
