Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2021Don't buy it.The reviews were mixed but the room that I wanted it for is the size of a walk in cupboard, so not very big at all, hence buying a small heater. It's being used as a tiny computer space/study room. So I bought the heater thinking that it would be ok for such a small area. It arrived today. I hadn't noticed the length of the plug lead which was a shame because it states categorically not to use with an extension lead but this wasn't mentioned on the Amazon page. The lead is very short. It does say that it has wheels but it doesn't have, they've obviously copied the details from another page where the item does have wheels. I wasn't bothered about this and could clearly see from the picture that it didn't have wheels. The information leaflet said turn it on to maximum and then turn it down once the desired temperature is reached and it will click so you know how far to turn it down. Well after several hours I'm still waiting for the desired temperature to be reached. The heater is hot but it's just not giving out any noticeable heat. I can't understand the reviews where people have said that it is heating up a decent sized room. Did they buy it in the summer?! So that's 25.99 wasted and I will have to look again for a suitable heater. I don't like fan heaters because of the noise but a convector heater will be too big. Very disappointed as I had a Daewoo fridge freezer that was brilliant. I think that probably gave out more heat than this heater does.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 April 2018Great little heater. We have used 2 of these almost continuously since purchasing them in December. Key features for me were: they are really easy to use, they have a heat sensor so you can set the temperature, they are silent. Note that they are 500W. This is great for small spaces and makes them very cheap to run, but don't expect one to heat large areas. For the price I paid they have been fantastic.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 August 2020Very weakVery weak even for a very small room (10sqm). I would say it is ok to keep maybe under your desk or next to your desk so you feet don't get too cold, but not powerful enough to warm up a small room. I don't think it is due to the product itself but to the power. Wanted to return it but the return process is an absolute nightmare because it contains oil which is considered as hazardous material and a special drop off point. Not having a car, it was better for me to just loose the 20 quid rather than spend 20 quid in taxi or pick up delivery for special items.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 April 2021Only really a 400W heater (50% duty cycle)For the price I think this is good value - but don't expect it to do more than take the chill off.I have it in my 3x2m workshop, and its doesn't really heat the place - but it is a lot safer than a 2kW fan heater. It runs at 800W for about 5 minutes, then switches off to allow that heat to dissipate (for about 5 minutes). So really, it's a 400W heater (on average) - so, like heating your room with 4 x 100W lightbulbs, or a toaster.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2018Leaked oil, don't buy.Oil leaked after less than 6 months of use. Seller has refused refund, replacement or repair. Don't buy!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 March 2018UselessBought it for a small study but it doesnt warm up the room even on highest setting all day. Ended up buying a mini fan heater for a cheaper price. Dont waste your money on this.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 September 2017Good value for moneyExcellent product. Small and compact it fits easily into smaller rooms. It is easy to operate, even for a technophobe like myself. A wonderful little heater.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2020ExcellentI bought this item to use in my VW Camper during the cooler months. It's the perfect size, no noise, and does the job! Great product, very happy customer (and camper!)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 March 2020Not as powerful as expectedThought this would be big enough to heat a VW camper but not adequate it does however fit perfect between the 2 front swivel seats and we bought a 1500kw for the other end of the camper
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 January 2021Small, effective and economical. We bought this heater to help with a "cold spot" in our lobby at the foot of our stairs, where there is no way a central heating radiator could be located. The amount of heat given out is surprising for the size of the unit, and it is so small and inconspicuous, and very economical to run.
Customer questions and answers
- Is this expensive to runIn winter, We use these for local background heating instead of our gas central heating - costs will depend on the thermostat setting, but having used these in various rooms over the last few years to take off the chill, we find them cost effective.
- Would it be suitable for an airing cupboard? It is certainly compact enough, but like all appliances it says "do not cover" so there should definitely be lots of space around it for air to circulate.
- How long is the cable and the description says its 500W what wattage is it?The one I have is 800w on the label attached to the heater, about 1m cable.
- Will the smell eventually go away?I get no smell from my heater but I've had it some time now DC.
