I am beside one of the UK's most congested roads, which has got worse since this current London Mayor and local Labour councils decided to change the tech details on plans for the cycle lane that has just been completed. Rather than having enough room for two cycles to pass each other the cycle lane is wide enough for a 32 tonne truck or even a wide load to go down thus passing trucks have to slowly lass each other at some points due to the road being unnecessarily narrow. Rush hour traffic now lasts until close to 9pm due to the extra congestion of removing the bus lane and another lane just for a cycle path that can easily allow a small single prop aircraft to land on it. So, polution is getting worse and not better in London, especially where I live. This Shark Air Purifier works exceptionally well in my home. All the brown and black soot that regularly builds up around windows and on balconies is being removed from the air in my home. My sinus allergy has improved a lot and only because I now breather clean air in my home. Before purchasing this please note that it is great for small rooms so I would advise that you purify the air in each room then place the device somewhere central such as the middle of a hallway. If windows are opened then bad air gets in so you can easily move this to any room where it is needed as often as you feel. It is not too heavy so it is easy to carry between rooms. see less

• These dont have hepa filters in the uk models, is that correct?
  That is correct according to Shark. They do claim 99.97% extraction of 0.3 micron particles though, which is HEPA grade.

• One thing that concerns me is that it sucks air from the back of this device, that must affect performance if put anywhere but in middle of the room?
  We have it placed against a wall and it performs really well with cooking smells.

• Just purchased this, put it our bedroom that had new carpets smell. This says 100% clean air all the time?! Is it faulty?
  Best way to check is put machine on auto spray an aerosol like deodorant or something in same room the purifier should detect it and burst into life ,if it doesn't then it could be faulty. Hope this helps
