  Lovely fresh air

  Lovely fresh air. I chose this one over the others on offer with much deliberation. This one can actually do a room much larger than we have in our house, but we live on a farm and have lots of pets so I know that mud is constantly coming into our house especially on the dog. You can see dust particles in the air all the time. My children suffer with mild asthma which is a worry. I decided to purchase this one because for the price and the size room that it covers it looked to be the best value for money. The filters are also cheaper than the more expense Phillips model and some of the reviews on that model indicate that the filters need changing quite quickly, although I don't really know how long these ones are going to last, 6 months is a guideline. I have to say my house is not as dirty as I thought! I set this on Auto mode and most of the time it stays on blue, mild pollution. Occasionally it goes to green for a short time where the machine is working much harder and you can generally hear it at that stage, but it is not loud, not to the point of being disturbing.. For me it has never had to go full strength yet. The sleep function is great if you have it in your bedroom, it runs away at its lowest setting. It also has a timer if you want it to work for a set period only. The air that comes out of it is quite cool, it will be nice in the summer will double up as an air conditioning unit! We have used this in every room in our house now and all members of my family have stated that the smell is really fresh.. The instructions are very good and so is the after sale service. I would definitely recommend this product.

  Not very effective

  I have had this air purifier for around 5 months and I have not been very impressed with it's performance.I have hayfever and I also suffer from slight dust allergies; periodically I experience irritated eyes and wheezing from dust and pollen. I bought the air purifier to ease the symptoms of my allergies.In the first few weeks of usage of this item, I placed it in my bedroom and it seemed to clear the air reasonably well and did change the scent of the air in the room. I felt that I managed to sleep well, largely symptom-free.However, in the following weeks and months I have suffered from my allergy symptoms despite running the air purifier on its maximum setting. The air filter still looks new and it appears to be operating as it should, it just doesn't seem very effective at clearing the air of allergens.Additionally, this evening I tried using the air purifier in the kitchen while cooking fish. I was hopeful that it would remove the cooking odour from the kitchen and stop the cooking smells from spreading throughout the house; it doesn't perform well at all, at this task. Not only does the air downstairs smell of cooked food but when I took the unit back upstairs to try it in the bedroom, the air that it produces (filtered) smells of the cooked fish!Not good.Overall, I am very disappointed in the performance of this product, especially considering it's £150 price tag. I would like to try a new filter to see it improves the performance of the purifier but, at £26 for each replacement filter, it seems like a bit of a gamble. I won't be recommending this product to anyone.

  This product represents outstanding value for money and cutting edge technology coupled with leading energy efficiency. Honestly, for the price what is there not to like? You can spend much much more and for what? a fancy design ?. The Levoit delivers across the board and does exactly what it promises and more.For any of you individuals who think that this product does not work please take a look at the images below of my filter after only 4 months of operation. My apartment is in the middle of a city centre location. Hence why I need this product. The pollution residue on the filter made me feel sick just looking at it but better in the filter than in my lungs. I live in a traffic dense area, carbon pollution is literally killing people. Thank you to Levoit for making excellent products which help protect us from the evils of airborne contaminants and pollution. I would never again live without a HEPA filter as I now know they do a life-saving job.

  Remove the bung from the air chamber

  1. arrived on time2. Build quality of machine is good. The display touch buttons work well functional and responsive = good hardware/software design3. It works. I have a recent dog I'm allergic to ran the machine for 2 hours in the living room no more sneezing and eyes itching I move this to the bedroom at night now no more reactions4. At full fan power 3 noise less than the same as a room fan set to 1 or 2 speed and I hardly notice its on .5. Sensitive. Remove the bung from the air chamber! and this machine reacts in seconds to cooking, sprays dust etc and goes into full power mode until air cleared when used in auto mode.6. Filters are expensive but worth it it does clean the air for me

  really works and makes a huge difference in air quality

  I have so bought one to test it, then I bought more, now I have 9 of these, essentially because we have kids and live in central London where air pollution is absolutely awful. The difference in air quality these purifiers make is dramatic - they really work very, very well. Now, at least while we're at home, we all breath good air. I 've only had them for a few weeks so I cannot comment on durability yet but they seem well made and I can absolutely recommend them.

  a boon to a hay-fever sufferer

  My wife suffers badly from hay fever from the spring to at least the middle of summer. We live on a road that is lined with lime trees, which release a sticky pollen that seems to trigger her allergy more than anything else. Inside the house, she can tolerate it during the daytime, despite a fit of sneezing every morning. The real problem was coming at night, however, because she was losing a lot of sleep through not being able to breathe easily. As this seemed a real threat to her health, I started investigating air purifiers. I chose this one as it is a bit more powerful than some of the others, but not as expensive as the Philips models. We put it in the bedroom, set it at just the basic fan speed, and kept the door slightly ajar for ventilation. The benefits were immediate and substantial. It has allowed her to get a good night's sleep every night since we started using it. She has also been able to give up completely the anti-allergens that she had been using frequently, which worked but made her drowsy. The effects are definitely not just psychosomatic because she was actually quite sceptical about the machine before we tried it.

  Excellent in every respect

  This has got to be my best ever Amazon purchase. It is superior to the other, not much cheaper, air purifiers I have bought. The machine is very well designed and the auto function works exceptionally well clearing the smell of tobacco smoke in a matter of just a few minutes in what is quite a large room. I did have a fault with the machine and when I contacted the Levoit support desk they had a replacement to me in a matter of days. Excellent company, excellent machine and I recommend them both highly.

  Rubbish. Really rubish

  A waste of money. Really pretty much a joke. It gets air from the sides , so to have any benefit from it you would have to have it pretty much in the middle of room. If you'll have it by the wall, there's not going to be much of the airflow going on so it will clean just that tinny area around it. That's it. For air purifier to actually work the fan must be quite powerful to get some airflow going on. If it doesn't then doesn't matter how big of the size the filter is - it's just not going to do anything. People don't get filled and waist your money. This box is massive by the way. Doesnt clean smells. At all. Rubbish.

  Effective but not cheap, considering.

  We have been using this in our sitting room for some weeks now. I have a terrible problem with dust and it seems to be very effective. We put it on maybe a few times a week for a few hours and it really helps to clear dust form the room. Our room is around 85 m3 at a guess so we decided to go for a larger unit. It is possible to spend thousands on these units; this one was considerably cheaper but seemed to use the same filtration process. It is not silent and I would not really want to sit with it on for long even on low power. It has a timer so it will switch off automatically if you set it. I gave 4 stars because considering how simple the product is, basically a fan and filters inside a plastic box, it seems very expensive to me. Of course you can spend a lot more if you wish, looking at independent review sites. It does the trick for us. The filters will need to be replaced in a few months.

  It really does clear cigarette smoke. I am delighted!

  Well so far so good. I only received this air purifier today and already there is a huge difference in our air quality. It was simple to set up I had it up and running within a few minutes. I set it to run on full power for half an hour and it worked perfectly even cleared the smell of stale tobacco within the half an hour. I then set it to automatic and am pleased to say that within seconds of lighting up a cigarette it sensed poor air quality and kicked in to do its work. I am a heavy smoker but my husband quit the evil weed over 10 years ago so his reaction to my smoking is bad (he's always complaining). I have situated purifier in my studio an average medium sized bedroom as this is where I smoke. Forgive the lengthy explanation I just wanted to give you the reader an accurate picture of how great this purifier is. My husband thought I had fallen prey to yet another expensive gadget, however, even he had to admit that it works. The smell of tobacco doesn't get the chance to escape my studio with the door open and there is absolutely no trace of the dreaded awful smell of cigarette smoke in our home. I am amazed and delighted because even I wondered if I was wasting a lot of money buying this great gadget. The cons - I have to admit that it is pretty noisy on full power but when it is set on auto it is only on full for around ten to fifteen minutes and it drops down to nothing unless something tips the air quality into poor. On the plus side it is portable not particularly heavy and easy to move around. So no more second hand smoke to harm my husband, my dog, two cats and the two budgies who live in my studio. I am sure that already my budgies are happier and more active as they must have been affected by the smoke, budgies have very delicate respiratory systems. So all the waffle aside this is the best considered purchase I have made for a long time. It REALLY works.
