- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 April 2021Great idea poorly executedFirstly, the machine is absolutely huge. It's almost the same size as our portable Air conditioner. I hadn't realised how much space it would take up in the room. The design is pretty simple. It's a large filter and a fan essentially. The filter takes up the main bulk of the machine and I dread to think what this would cost to replace as I was unable to find a replacement online. The worrying thing is the display has a filter life bar on it and I expect it to just stop one day when it does need replacing and refuse to work again unless it sensed a new filter in place. The design is massively let down by the technology. The app is woeful. It wouldn't connect initially and then wouldn't let me complete the allergy profile or control the machine from the app. Two app updates later and it finally did work as intended. Sadly, after all the anticipation, the app doesn't actually offer anything over and above just pressing the buttons on the machine. The energy consumption display on the app never worked and this was the main but I was interested in as I suspect it costs a lot to run. The main point to the machine is obviously air filtration. We've never noticed a problem with the air in the house, but I had hoped that the indicator lights would be orange or red (indicating poor air) when we first turned it on. They were however green, indicating good to excellent air. The lights never changed from green. The machine did speed up when it sensed we had burnt the dinner, but it never once registered poor air. It also gave no indication of how much pollen it was filtering. This would have been more interesting than overall air quality. I was interested in the pollen removal aspect as a hay-fever and asthma sufferer. Sadly, the pollen count throughout the testing period always low and so I have no idea if this machine would make a difference to me. I would like to think that it would help given the size of the filter in it. The diffuser is a gimmicky extra on this model. The pro biotic bottle shipped with the machine promises to rid surfaces of harmful bacteria. The pro biotic mode is incredibly noisy as the diffuser turns on every 3 minutes or so to pump more of the stuff into the air and this pump is noisier than the actual air purifier running at the same time. Overall, I couldn't recommend it as I haven't seen it make a huge difference to our air quality. This would likely be different if we lived in a city full of smog.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2021Won't work with the app so is useless: returnedIf you are looking to buy this to use the app then don't bother. For two days I have tried connecting this damn purifier. I follow the instructions perfectly and it refuses to connect. I have tried using a different device to set it up. I have tried creating a WiFi hotspot to set it up.I even tried ringing the support team and spent ages on hold only for them to cut me off.Every time I try and fail to register the appliance with the app and it gives you an option to ring them or leave an electronic message via the app. NEITHER of these buttons actually work. Some functions can't be used unless it's registered to the app - the pollen defense setting, air quality tracking etc and this is what I wanted in a purifier. As for efficacy I set it up about 3 metres from where I sit on the sofa, when I started vaping it would ramp up automatically to clear the air. Same with air freshener. So I can't say the item is totally rubbish because it's basic functionality is good. But I bought this for the connectivity and all the extra data that brings.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 August 2021Complete waste of time…Now I’m a fair person, the purifier itself shows good promise, well built, sturdy, attractive and a very decent filter; all of the above impressed when removing from the box and getting set up.Getting set up was a nightmare, essentially the unit is app controlled, yes you can switch it on at the unit but there is really no additional control or information, that you would expect of a purifier at this price point so you have to use the hOn app. This is where it all went wrong for me!I’m quite a technically savvy person (generally) and I would consider it well within my grasp to connect a device to a personal WiFi network, but with this app it is seemingly impossible! I have tried every possible variable and option reset and restarted everything, short of giving it a kick (which I learnt many year ago is best reserved for car maintenance) I cannot get this device to connect to WiFi.The support options on the app do not work, Amazon chat spent an hour running through everything I’d already done. I could have created a hotspot which apparently is a work around, but why should I have to!Long shot is that it is being returned, I have two Dyson air purifiers (both connected to WiFi flawlessly) so I’ll be sticking with these going forwards.Hope this stops anyone else going around the ever more maddening WiFi connection loop. And if you’re reading these reviews to see if anyone else has had WiFi issues then yup, I’m with you!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 April 2021Effective and stylishI really love the Hoover H-Purifier 300. I got it to replace my old air purifier which was very much a simple 3-speed, non-smart appliance. As a vaper, this purifier is perfect because it will automatically detect when there are particles in the air to be filtered, it then ramps up the speed, clears the air and then settles back down to a low setting when the air is clear. The purifying capability is amazing, it's surprising just how quickly this can clear the air. I like that it also has a Sleep mode so that it can operate overnight whilst making also no noise so as to not disturb my sleep. The companion app is extremely useful for being able to control extra settings, setting a sleep schedule and monitoring the air quality remotely. At around £350 this isn't the most affordable option available, but with the smart-functionality, ease of use and filtering ability, this is definitely a must-buy for those who want/need good air quality. I was quite surprised at the size of this, although it is smaller than my previous air purifier so it fits perfectly into the space. It also has a very modern and stylish look, which fits in well with the other tech appliances I have. I would recommend! :)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2021Purifier your home.My initial impression of the device itself was that it is massive. It looks like a giant battery. It's definitely well built. Quality of materials used is absolutely high. Nothing to pick on really. It comes with a big cylinder HEPA filter, 50 ml Detox Ritual 100% natural essential oil and H-Biotics - bio-hygienizing blend based on probiotics. The first setup with the h-On app was a little bit difficult. I was unable to pair the H-purifier with my wifi network over the Bluetooth, however after switching to wifi pairing mode it was straight forward. The app gives you remote control of all functions and stats, air quality and pollution. The app has already been upgraded a few times bringing some improvements. You can control all Hoover family devices through the app. The advanced multi sensor is very sensitive and can sense even dirty smelly socks or even a fart. It adjusts fan speed to provide best performance and cleanest room air in possible quickest time. The led halo ring on top of the purifier informs us about the actual air condition. I've been using it in our saloon/day room and bedroom for sleeping. Day use is absolutely perfect. You can enjoy clean air. It is hard to say how clean the air is with the H-purifier on as non of our family suffers with an allergy but it seems to do the job well. There's a built-in sleep mode that reduces led brightness and cleans the air while you sleep. The only issue for me is constantly spinning the fan with the lowest setting which can be a problem for some people to fall asleep as even if it is quiet it is noticeable. While a day mode stops the fan when air reaches best quality after filtering. But that might be fixed with software upgrades in the future. There is also a filter condition/cleaning indicator through the h-On app as well as on the main control display informing when to clean the filter or replace it. I'm not sure how long the filter can last, that depends probably on many factors, like where you live, if you smoke or not and so. Summarizing H-purifier 500 from Hoover is absolutely a beast. It's big, it's powerful, it's advanced, but most of all it's purifying room air efficiently and quickly. It would require a long term usage to say more about durability and filter lifespan but after about a month of use I see no issue whatsoever. I would recommend it to everyone looking for the most advanced and powerful air purifier on the market.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 October 2021Good machine, poorly executed.Majority of the functions are built in the app, bad thing is the app does not work, leaving users with Auto, sleep or Max modes!Comes with a large filter so should do a good job of cleaning the air in a large space.I work in IT, I followed all the requirements to get this purifier to connect to the app, to no avail. After chatting with the support folks, they asked for videos to help them diagnose the issues.I recorded three videos for them various showing setting up procedures:1. With an Android phone2. With an iPhone3. With a mobile hotspot. They confirmed that I did the right thing with regards to set up, but they are having problems with their IoT platform. It's been three weeks since they told me that they'll get back, despite sending few emails they never did.I believe that they are unable to solve the problem and these purifiers are nothing but junk.If only they have a remote control along side it!Save your money and your mental health, get a Dyson. So much better.

This product is ace. Sleek design, integrated handles. The app is amazing with forecasts for allergens. You can filter out specific allergens as well. Daily forecast notifications are very useful for me to decide whether to take medication or not. Fan can be set too different speeds and auto programmed.I am very impressed with this product. The WiFi is quick to set up and the connectivity is steady. The Purifer can be remotely controlled via app and it is discreet sounding. The sensor system is quick to pick up changes in the air quality. - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 April 2021Quiet machineWhen you first get this you realise how big it actually is compared to pictures of the product, it takes a little bit of space especially when you need to make sure it's not near a wall. It was easy to set up after opening, and was really interesting what the air quality was supposedly like when it started up. You realise how not clean your room air quality is. When it's working it is very quiet, although when it's diffusing it does make some squealing noises. The app isn't really worth using, and will only download on my husbands phone, not mine. There are spelling mistakes, broken links for spares and settings don't work. If the readouts are true then it clears a room very quickly, and the interesting thing is that when I opened up a cupboard nearby with nail varnish in, it quickly went into higher power and cleared it. Can't say I've noticed a great difference being an asthmatic/allergy sufferer as yet, but time will tell once the pollen begins to come.

The unit is really quiet, and very big in sizewouldn't even know its running and the app is great for tracking your air quality too. I'm so glad we now have this product and would recommend it to allergy sufferersThe Diffuser is a nice touch,I found the scents provided by Hoover are not very strong, when using the diffuser, the air purifier detects it as a scent, it then sucks it in and expels "clean" air.It is also very loud when the diffuser is running.Very simple to set up the appBut not a very useful appIt detects whilst I cook in the kitchen , and gets to workEven when a candle is burning it detects itThe thing I don’t like mist is the price, it’s very priceyCould of been cheaperThere’s also something else I do not like about the productIt is starting to smell like fish in the room when the unit is onOne day I cooked fish and I think it sucked up the smell of the fishMaybe it needs a new filter now
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 August 2021Maybe it's an okay product but the support is terrible, hovering over the return buttonTo use the full features of the purifier you need to use their phone app. However, I cannot get the app to add the device. In a bizarre archaic choice for 2021 the device ONLY supports 2.4Ghz network. Fortunately, I still have one. However, the app refuses to add the device. To make matters worse when you retry you have to re-enter all the steps again. So I hop onto the support site and the whole purifier range doesn't even exist. So far it's been a horrible experience and frankly I should just return it.

- We have this machine but i am unable to connect it to the app, i have tried everything……. i have a hoover machine machine and that’s connected. No joy for me either. Their online help is worse than useless. I finally contacted them on the phone and they couldn't help but promised a specialist would get back...yep nothing. What a terrible company Hoover seem to be.
- Can somebody share a link for replacement filters please? Not sure which are correct from my searches. Thanks.Look on Hoover's website.
- How to connect wifi (2.4ghz) and where is any support for it?Most modern broadband modems are 2.5/5Ghz but the default setting is usually 5Ghz which create problems with appliances that use 2.4Ghz. Try walking around you house while you're connecting to the app. The further away from your router the better as it will 'trick' it into using 2.5Ghz.
- What is csdr rating? and what makes it different then other less priced products?Hello, I can confirm that the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate – m3/h) of this unit is 290. Ultra fine Particle removal - 99.97
