AIR PURIFIER FOR ALLERGIES: When your home is suffering from poor indoor air quality, you might not notice until allergy symptoms set in. Itchy eyes, runny noses and rashes are all common signs of home allergies. Allergens in your household can also cause those suffering from asthma and other respiratory issues to experience shortness of breath. Once you have pinpointed which room is triggering these symptoms, you know that this is the best place to position your air purifier for the first use.
TRUE HEPA: HEPA stands for "high-efficiency particulate air". This is an advanced mechanic air filtration system. It works by pulling the poor-quality air in the home through a fine mesh filter and trapping the harmful particles, leaving pure and clean air to circulate back into your room. What makes our HoMedics Tower Air Cleaner special is the carbon pre-filter, this combats nasty odours caused by tobacco smoke and pets.
EASY TO USE: To turn your air cleaner on, press the ON/OFF button on the control panel. The LED light in the ON/OFF button on the control panel will be lit and your air cleaner will start to operate on LOW speed. Press the + and – buttons to toggle your speed settings. To turn your air cleaner OFF, simply press the ON/OFF button on the control panel

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 September 2017Buy this, it's brilliant! This is the business! Seen these used in the asthma care ward during a stay in hospital and bought one straight away. Makes a huge difference to air quality in your home. We've had one of these for 2 years running nearly continuously. It is still going strong and have got a new one for downstairs. Amazing value, reliable, easy to maintain and improved my sons asthma and household dustmite allergies too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 September 2018Update: Makes a weird humming noise that's getting worseUPDATE: it now makes this high frequency hummin noise that seems to indicate that some parts of this filter is loose. It's really hard to sleep with it, so take this into account.I used their cheapest model before this for a few weeks, this model is significantly better, it's bigger, its quieter and it has a much better build profile (you can put it in the middle of your room without it taking up much leg space). The rotation is a major plus (but it makes a very quiet sound which suggests some knobs werent too tight). The UVC might just be a gimmick though, because if it is going through a HEPA filter, pretty much nothing alive should be going through the other side anyway, I think adding a UV C before pushing through the filter might have been better so as to prevent mold growth.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2018This was delivered last Saturday and was very quiet to ...This was delivered last Saturday and was very quiet to start with. As of yesterday, Thursday 1st Feb. it makes a sshhs, sshhs sound and the fan sounds as though it is hitting something. In other words it is failing to be quiet. What's to do?The second cleaner (not a replacement) came Wednesday and, so far, has remained quiet.I'll give the first fan another couple of days otherwise it's going back.Always keep the packaging.Pete
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2020It's a wow product - sure it's gonna game change my asthmaOnly had it a week tomorrowBut love it alreadyThe house has a completely fresher smell, u can tell the air is clean .I live next to 2 building sites, 20 car garages spuing toxins all day, next to a busy London train station and a main road.I have the worst and rarest asthma and COPDI've allergies etc and this wk I haven't had to take any antihistaminesI'm sure it's gonna be a game changer for my healthGreat fanGets rid of all impurities , pollen, dust ,first mitesCleans the air ,purifys and the ultra violet kills germs...even covid apparently as covid don't like ultra violet.....???
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 March 2020A bit misleading but read my review thank youGood fan and you can feel the difference in the air quality and it does cool the room . Just be aware that on the pictures and on the box you can see a blue light at the front of the fan and when you turn on the UV you think it’s not working because you can’t see the blue light. I put a piece of cardboard in the safety switch and tested the UV and it was all working fine. But part from that very happy .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 December 2019Knocking noise while it oscillates.Got this to replace a homedics AP15 that I couldn't get the hepa filters for, constantly out of stock on the homedics website. This one is much quieter on the lowest level, so much so I was able to sleep with it on. Highest level isn't as loud as my previous machine. I do like that it has a uv light and remote control.Like another reviewer I have found that less than 24 hours of use and the machine makes a knocking noise when it oscillates. If this doesn't stop within the next few days I'll be returning the product for a replacement.Update - 4 days after delivery and the oscillation noise has continued so I've arranged a replacement. Spoke to homedics via amazon and they said its faulty. My advise for anyone that is still in the 1 year warranty window, return your product for a replacement if its doing the same. Amazon arranged it at no cost, good service from them
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 July 2019Not noticed a great difference yet but will keep on to double checkSo far i am unsure whether this has done much to the air around me, but i will recheck it in a while. the unit is bigger than i imagined and has easy controls - there is no way of knowing if the UV Lamp is on or not except the indicator light on the top - If you use the remote it would be good if there were a difference in beep tones depending if it were active or not as the confirmation beep when pressing the remote is the same as turning it on or off, IE there isn't any way of confirming unless you had to go to the device to check the indicator light on the top. do far the vents are still perfectly clear and the weird thing is that the air flow out the front comes out at an angle, not directly out front - but i see that is the case normally and not a defect, why i don't know it is still strange...What most concerns me is the rattling noise during oscillation - even on a perfectly flat surface it still does it, so turned this off.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 May 2017Amazing product, not sure why there are poor reviews ...Amazing product, not sure why there are poor reviews of this product so far it have made a massive difference to my home I got 2 one for front room and one for bedroom did a massive clean day after I got it to see the difrance in dust build up and it's amazing. I have cats and it helps with the hair that they lose, Only negative would be better if more quite would not be good for light sleepers or people that find it hard to get to sleep but other than that perfect
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2021It's alright... But very noisy!!!!We've had the Honeywell air purifier for a few years and decided to try the Homedics as there was a rave about it.After a couple of uses, it began to make a Ka Ka Ka sound on the lowest level and a high zoom sound on the highest level, which is terrible when the children are trying to sleep. The only quiet level was the middle level. Sad as this is one sleek item and looked lovely in the children's room. I am not totally sure it helped as much as my children are allergy sufferers. There was not much difference it made to be honest. Another pro is that it is fairly easy to use. I found the buttons make a loud beep when pressed, which is also a problem when trying to be covert. In all, good working fan, not sure the air purifier function functions adequately, very loud fan levels, loud buttons and lovely aesthetics!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 June 2018Thrilled! Great for hey fever and cooling the room.Bought this for my hubby who can’t sleep with hey fever breathing issues. He is thrilled as he doesn’t get blocked up anymore and is sleeping lots better. The unit produces a lovely cool breeze which also helps with better sleep for us both. On the lowest setting the noise made is quiet like a fan..obviously the higher settings create more noise and breeze, but we find it works very well on the minimum setting.
Customer questions and answers
- is it good for smokersThe only good thing for smokers is for them to give up smoking - really there is no point trying to mask the air around the room then puffing in the 'cancer sticks' into the body which really defeats the purpose of having an air purifier do the work.
- Will this really work if I place it in the bathroom where the cats litter is placed? It's pretty much just a fan. I don't know if it actually picks up dust or not, I haven't noticed the difference.
- Hi does this also act like a fan? Will it make the room cooler when it is running? We used it as a fan during during last few weeks. It's not as powerful as a direct fan but it was alright on a really hot night. Though It didn't throw cool air. It is very effective when it. Comes to. Collect lint and prevent pollen.
- When the unit is pointing straight, the air blows out to one side rather than straight ahead, has anyone else had this problem?I think it comes out at an angle to help circulate the air around the room
