    Not enough information or directions.

I have not used it much to date but found it had no instructions or real guidance to follow. I had to contact Dyson to get these and their person was very good. So it will be a matter of time to assess the real value of this product. Also there was no paperwork to enable a return if it was necessary nor any sales invoice to show the purchase. It was also very difficult to locate Amazon to make any sort of complaint or get any help or clarification to any problems.

Way too noisy; form over function

Bought this as a desk fan whilst working from home. Normally use a standard 9" desk fan in the office. There's 10 settings. Level 3 to 10 are ridiculously noisy - can be heard above loud music!Level 1 doesn't move any air, so ignore that. Level 2 is therefore the lowest and quietest setting with a small breeze. Alas when the music's off -- and you're concentrating -- you can clearly hear the fan. Definitely wouldn't use it in the bedroom. It's simple physics. With a large desk fan, the large blade turns relatively slowly to move large amounts of air quietly. With the Dyson Pure there's a small fan inside running at high speed pushing lots of air through, obviously small fast fans are very noisy (think of a hair drier compared with a ceiling fan).Bought online, so couldn't actually see what it was like beforehand. I was hoping for much better given the price, for example a lot more silencing.Oh, and the remote control's just plain stupid. It sticks face down on the unit (they've gone through a crazy effort to ensure the magnets only allows the control to be placed that way round. There's no on-off button on the front, so you have to pull the remote off to click it then put it back. It's hard and slippery to hold, so prepare to frequently drop it.Returning it to Dyson.
