    A breath of fresh air
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 June 2021
Quite a large air purifier, with large changeable filters. It’s so quite, you have to put your hand over the outlet, or check the app, to see if it’s still on, simply an outstanding piece of tech. The unit came well packaged, with a uk plug, even though it’s a German bit of kit, so that’s great to see.The instruction manual is quite thick, and I was a bit daunted at first, until I realised the English section is only 18 pages long. The manual is concise, and leads you from start to finish, setting up the unit for first use. It even takes you through the set up and use of the app, that not only works like a remote control, but gives you a graph type readout, from day to day, on your air quality inside the house and out.The app was very easy to set up, it leads you through everything step by step, although it requires the use of a 2.4gHz Wi-fi signal, I didn’t need to switch off my 5gHz on my multi band router, like you sometimes have to on some smart products, so that was a relief, as it can be a real pain connecting everything again.Once it connected, and carried out an update, it was good to go. You can set up routines, having it switch on and off etc at certain times.I suffer from sniffles and running noses at times, although the doctor says it’s not hay fever, and I’m not allergic to anything, so I’m hoping this will be of some help, if it’s an airborne problem. Although the unit says my air in the house is very good, it doesn’t state if it’s found anything. So I will try it in the bedroom next, and see what the air quality is like up there. You don’t need to use it with an app, it’s quite capable of running without the app, and the units light changes colour depending on the quality of the air. Just set it to ‘smart’ and it will set off on its merry way.The unit can be mounted onto a wall, or with the help of two little feet, can be free standing, this way you can move it about the house.I’ve been using it for a week now, and although the air quality hasn’t changed, which is a good thing, it will be interesting to see, say after a months usage, what the filter looks like, so I will report back on future observations. But at the moment, no sniffles or runny noses. I would imagine it would be great for people with actual hay fever. At the moment replacement filters are £80. Obviously different conditions, will depend on how often they need to be changed.I’m happy to recommend this unit.

    Fantastic Smart Air Purifier
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2021
This air purifier is designed to a premium level and includes smart features that can be controlled from the touch screen on the device, or on an app.It includes two settings, smart and manual, that control the speed of the fan. On low to mid level settings, the device is very quiet - perfect for sleeping even if the device is on in the bedroom! The touchscreen on the device looks great, as minimalistic as it needs to be whilst looking modern. The app is really easy to use and gives some good information such as; the quality of the air (include graphs) and to know when the filters need replacing, as well as the option to change the fan speed on the device from the app. I think it would be great to just have an option to read the instructions in a more visual way than the manual (although the instructions are fairly easy anyway).Even on the low fan setting, you can feel the airflow fairly well. I've happily kept mine to the smart mode and let it decide what level it needs to be. The device works for helping standard allergy symptoms such as blocked noses, dry eyes and helps sleep quality. I'm looking forward to continually using it, especially in this summer season. The purifier has a designer aesthetic to it, but I would also love it if there were different colours to choose from to match specific rooms. It has the option to stand alone as well as fit to a wall - with instructions on how to do either method. It is a pretty large device, but thanks to its minimalistic design, I don't find it making the room look cluttered. With the premium quality, comes the premium price tag. This purifier is definitely on the high end, but you get the smart controls as well as the standard large purifier. I would definitely recommend this for someone who is struggling to get a good night's sleep and willing to pay a bit more for a great quality device.

Purifies the air but keeps going into manual mode

, currently playing liveLIVERemaining Time -0:00 Playback Rate1xChaptersChaptersDescriptionsdescriptions off, selectedCaptionscaptions off, selectedAudio TrackFullscreenThis is a modal window. The first impression of this air purifier is that it is huge. It is a light (almost white) plastic with a mottled effect to the from panel and a gloss white to the rest. There are 2 removable feet at the back that allow the unit to sit slightly tilted backwards. The top of the unit has the control panel and status LED bar.Once setup, the first thing to do is fitting the two filters (breeze and fresh) that come with it. These sit behind the front panel and both clean particulate out of the air (breeze) and also remove odours (fresh). The top right of each filter has a tag on it with a RFID identifier inside. These must be level with the RFID reader in the unit and thankfully the filters both have a top label on them to make this clear. If you do not fit this correctly, the unit will function but only in manual mode.Once switched on, setting it up in the app was simple as the app (AEG Wellbeing) walks you through adding it to your Wi-Fi network. You can control the unit using either the top panel or the app, although for full detailed information you will need the app - filter life, particulate history etc. In manual mode you can choose from 5 different fan speeds with 1 & 2 being silent and 5 being fast and audible. The best option is to choose smart mode as this changes the speed of the fan depending on the level of particulates in the air. This is very noticeable when frying as the particulate level rises. When the speed rises the colour of the LED bar on the top changes from green through yellow, orange and red to give an instant reading of how polluted the air is. It also makes it obvious how quickly the air is cleaned by the filters. After using it for nearly a month I have used around 10% of the filters so estimate that a filter pack will last about 9-10 months. The replacements are not cheap at around £70-80 a pack but they last a while and do an effective job.Why only 3 stars for the review though when all I have said is positive so far. I have had constant issues with getting the unit to stay in smart mode. multiple times per day I will notice that it is in manual mode and therefore not actively changing its filtering speeds depending on the air it samples. I have tried reaching out to AEG for support but have had no replies so far (3 weeks and a couple of chases) but suspect it is either the unit dropping of Wi-Fi for a short period of time or that the filters have not been read correctly (I did notice once that the app said the filters were not detected so the unit was in manual mode). Had AEG replied promptly (in fact at all) then I believe my issues could have been quickly resolved but at the moment I have an expensive 'smart' air purifier that spends half its time being very un-smart. A final thing to note about this is that when the unit is in manual mode, the LED is always on. In smart mode it will only be on during the day. A quick tell-tale that it dropped into manual overnight is when I wake up in the morning and see a bright green LED on the top. Finally, you can get some accessories for the unit - a different colour front panel, a wall mount and a carry strap. The latter of these really should have been included in the box as there is no integral carry handle and the unit is large and not that portable without one.At well over £300 currently, it is expensive for a filter but does have promise if the dropping into manual mode is resolved. Until then I would struggle to rate it as value for money I am afraid.

    Very happy with this device
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2021
I am very happy with the air purifier. It has an automatic system with which it automatically detects when the air quality is getting better or worse and adapts itself automatically and increases or decreases the air circulation. It is also visually beautiful and very attractively designed. You can also customize the look by buying a cover for the front panel and buying the two feet in different colors. The great thing about the air purifier is that it runs very quietly on the low levels 1 and 2 (a total of 1 - 5, but it usually runs on a low level if the air quality is good) and does not bother you. , low noise I do not hear it at night and it does not affect my sleep. He is also very persistent. I have had it since weeks and it runs continuously during the day and also at night and in my opinion this is not a problem at all, as the device does not get hot and can withstand these loads very well. You can also connect it to the WiFi and there is an app (AEG Wellbeing) with which the air purifier can be controlled. Here you can, for example, set when and how often it should be operated. You can set timing. You can also see how the air quality is changing here has changed over the past hours, days or even weeks. Here different particles are listed which are filtered and the disadvantages of these particles are also written so that a normal user has a little insight into what kind of use this device has. Another advantage is that the app shows you how much power the inserted filters have. . I particularly noticed that the air sensor in the device worked well when I was cooking, using deodorant / perfume or hairspray, for example, or when smoking, for example. If you operate it in smart mode, it controls the level independently and in manual mode, you can either control it directly via the touch unit on the device or via the app. Another big advantage is that you can operate the device via the app (i.e. increase or decrease levels or even switch it off) even when you are not at home. . I can say that the device has convinced me very much and I am very happy with my device.

AEG AX51-304WT Air PurifierI ordered this AEG AX51-304WT Air Purifier for my mom, who suffers from allergic rhinitis. She always has a runny nose due to dust and other allergens. We are hoping that this humongous air purifier can somehow help her with her condition. It is easy to install. Straight from the packaging, you just have to screw put the tiny legs to support it stably on the floor or mount it on the wall. It is more on the lightweight side that you can easily transfer it from one room to another. It does not come with remote control, but the settings can be adjusted manually or by downloading the app 'AEG Wellbeing', available in IOS or App Store. The app will give you step-by-step instructions on how to pair the device with your phone. I manage to get it done in less than 5 minutes. The app can give you access to turn it on/off or timer schedule. In addition, the app will tell you remotely the quality of air in the room where the air purifier is.The LED light indicator will tell you how good or bad the air quality will change accordingly. You'll feel a mild wind blowing. It produces gentle noise that is not annoying or bothering. I don't have an air quality monitor device, but it seems it is working fine. I'd probably update this review after 6 months of using it to check if the filter will capture any particle. After using it for a few weeks, my mom feels that this air purifier is working as she suffers a less runny nose. It may be just in her mind, or there might be different factors contributing to it.For now, I will leave it with a five-star.

    It’s effective but quite large
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2021
As a regular and long term sufferer from both hay fever and allergic rhinitis (posh name for an allergy to “house dust”) this device bringing air purification into the range of the ordinary consumer was something I was delighted to have the chance to try.It was easy to set up and I quickly connected it to the app. (As a matter of interest the one I received for review purposes looked like it was a manufacturer return and the carry handle/strap was absent and there was a dark scuff on the top of the purifier. Neither of these points make any difference to me).I tried it in my bedroom and the air quality reading from the app was fine. I left it in smart mode and it trundled away happily with a very low fan speed for much of the day. I then decided to burn an incense stick in the adjacent room and see what happened. Well, within a few minutes it had detected a significant change in air quality and was operating at a much increased level. The graph on the app for the particles in the atmosphere rapidly went into the red zone. Over the next few hours the purifier brought the levl back down to good again. But it was a really impressive demonstration of the unit’s capabilities. The downside is that it is a fairly large piece of kit and (in my opinion) not particularly attractive. AEG have tried to portray it (on their own website) as something of a design statement. And you can buy alternative coloured front covers for it. However, I do give them credit for trying on the design issue.Although it is within the consumer category it is around £290 (at the time of this review). The data provided by AEG suggests that the filter will need replacing at about 2 years if used for 12 hours a day. That will, of course, be affected by the environment in which it is used and the amount of usage each day.Much to like about this and I am hoping it will help with my allergies.

Excellent air purifier and has child lock controls
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2021
This is a big unit and comes very well packed in a big box. There’s some simple assembly to install the filters and attach two feet to the unit, very easy to do. The unit can be used without the AEG Wellbeing app as there are touch buttons on the top, however connecting to the app is very easy and gives full control over the unit as well as adding some timers, used time on the filters and a child lock function. The child lock is particularly welcome as we have a similar specification Philips unit and the grandchildren just love touching the controls as they make a chiming noise. The unit is a little awkward to move as it is heavy and bulky and it doesn’t have a carrying handle, although the holes for one are on the top covered with bungs. The unit can be wall-mounted, the simple bracket isn’t included, but is available from AEG. Air quality is shown by a coloured line on the control, although this can be turned off in the app; green meaning good quality. On level one the unit is barely audible so would be suitable for a bedroom, higher levels are progressively noisier; we have it on manual level one rather than smart, so that it doesn’t suddenly increase levels as it detects fragrances or cooking. This is a high quality air purifier and I can recommend it.

    Clean and fresh Air
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2021
I ordered this air purifier as I suffer from tight breath and anxious breathing and thought this would help me.Arrived in stylish box, excellently packaged. Must remove HEPA filter from plastic bag before switching on.Really easy to set up despite this being ultra high tech, the instruction manual is the size of a box but only 18 pages are in English ?. Instructions are simple to follow in a structure way, even shows you how to download and connect to the AEG Wellbeing app using WIFI and smart phone. Can either attach to wall or have free standing using 2 legs provided (just screw in). It is a really stylish and modern high tech air purifier and I have in kitchen/dinner and it is better than excellent in cleaning and freshens up the air. I have 2 miniature dachshunds and I am always conscious that I am nose blind to smells they produce, now I know my house is clean and fresh for me and all visitors. Can control unit using one touch buttons or by using app like a remote control, app is far more than a remote it graphs out current and previous air quality in the house. Unit defaults to smart mode which uses air quality level to determine fan speed, very clever unit will even turn out light indicators in a dark room to not disturb your rest. The unit has 5 different speeds depending on results you want to achieve, each speed is quiet and performs exceptionally.Large changeable HEPA filters are cleanable and very robust, advertised to last for 2yrs if used for 12hrs everyday. Replaceable HEPA filters are available and cost about £78 but I don't need to get one for some time.Overall, I can really breath better in my house now than I did before this air purifier, the air is fresh and clean. This is an expensive product but you are getting a smart (tech wise) top of the range air purifier from a world class brand.I would recommend this product

    Sensational air purifier.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2021
This air purifier from AEG is just sensational. In just a matter of minutes, the difference in air quality is immediately noticeable. And after running it 24/7 for a couple of weeks, my morning sneezing pits has practically stopped. No more itchy red eyes. No more stuffy nose. I can breathe better at night, making my sleep so greatly improved too. Besides filtering the dust, pollen, and other small particles, it has also helped to eliminate the cooking smell dramatically (we don't have an extractor hood and it's winter, too cold to open the windows). It’s very straightforward to operate. It comes with 5 fan speeds, I find that even on the highest speed, it is not very loud to the point of disturbing. It spits out cool air from the grill, making the whole room cooler, perfect for the warm summer months.Besides the option of running it manually, it can also be controlled from the AEG Wellbeing App on your phone which is easy to set up and use. I also like how it’s easy to see the quality of air from the colour of the LED display. It was orange in the beginning, and now it’s always blue which indicates the air is good. It also has an indicator that will let you know when the filter needs to be replaced. Its HEPA filters will last for two years if used for 12hrs daily. Replacement filters cost around £70.Not only that I know It’s working great, but its slim design is also aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. It can be free-standing or mounted onto a wall. The touch-sensitive buttons, smooth top grill, and white all around finish just add the luxury look to it.From the price standpoint, and for its size that can cover quite a large room, I think it's to be the best value for money. If there's anything to be added, is a Child Lock function - to stop the little hands playing with the touch button.I just had it for a couple of weeks, too soon to comment on the durability. Priced at £289.99 (at the time of writing), not a cheap product, but for the amazing result that I’m seeing right now, I'm thoroughly very pleased. Would certainly recommend this unit to others who are considering good quality air purification for a good size room.Thank you for reading. Hope you have found it helpful.
