Smart Home Device - control the unit via Igenix app on all smart devices. It's compatible with Amazon Echo devices and Alexa-enabled - can be controlled by voice commands

3-in-1 multi-functional air conditioning unit with cooling, fan and dehumidifying functions with a 1.5 m exhaust hose included. The unit makes 65dB of noise when Cooling function is on as the compressor is within the unit itself, different from commercial air conditioning found in hotels, which makes it unsuitable to use when sleeping, so make sure you cool the room prior to using your bedroom

Cooling function - 9000 BTU cooling capacity, the cooling temperature can be reduced to 15° Celsius; ideal for both home and office environments. Like all portable air conditioner units, it must be vented through a window or vent hole in the wall so hot air can escape and the room can be cooled

Dehumidifying function - this can be used independent of the air conditioning function; allowing you to extract up to 27 Litre a day of excess moisture and humidity from the atmosphere

Fan function - allows for air in the room to be recirculated and provides a more concentrated air flow with a choice of three fan speed settings

    Nice machine, honest review
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 July 2019
The Aircon arrived in plenty of time, although the box was badly damaged, there seems so far no damage on the item.I ready this is nothing like a car aircon, well if you placed this in a car it would work much better and quicker, secondly people are complaining about the hose, well everything is plastic these days and a Metal would just not work. As for the length, yes as tiny bit short but as I will explain in. A moment I can understand why it’s short. It’s quite a slick looking machine with digital touch pad for the controls on the top, ver simple to operate, and comes with a basic remote, maybe a little small that it could be lost.WiFi you need to down load the app for this device, if you don’t like to share your data, then don’t use the app as you need to sign up and agree to the company use of Your data, it work fine with out setting up the WiFiThe performance is good for a small unit, however you need to be realistic with this or other Aircon machines that there are many factors that affect the heat in the room, like.. how many people, any pets, electrical items, doors ope, windows open, the Aircon pipe, everything has stored heat in any weathers, so even though you may want the Aircon set at15degrees, you will have to eliminate most heat sources before you can do this, so shut as many things and turn off everything not the Aircon to help the machine do it’s job. I managed to reduce the room by five degrees with it set on 15 degrees.Do I think it’s a lot of money, yes I hate paying out big cash but in this hot heat I need it and it’s a fairly good investment.Pro,sNeat lookingEasily set upGood choice of settingsHas a simple but effective remoteHas a nice COLD air flow, with moving up and down slatsFairly quick to reduce up to five degreesI don’t find the fan over noisy, but you know when it’s on, I manage to hear the tv no problemThe pipe our is made of a sturdy plastic, but could be damagedCons..Ugly air exhaust pipe, mine came out at 2 metresYou need a window open that is big enough for the exhaust pipe around 6inch diameterIt is noisy in a quiet room if sleeping, even in sleep modeThe handles on the sides are a funny angle, you can lift the machine up, but not able to pull the machine as there is no gripThe wheels are a good feature but rubbish on carpet, so you end up lifting the machine, anyone not strong enough could not do this. The drain plugs being two, are ver basic, there should be a tap or something to stop the flow of waste water coming out on the floor before you can connect the hose provided, I would imagine that if the machine was full of water, it would become ver heavyWould I buy again, maybe I would look around, but everyone has a bad comment to make on every Aircon machine, people just don’t like the cost, but what I like about this one is the three functions.. the reason why I gave four stars is that it’s not perfect, and in reality you will never get perfect in these type of machines and perfection comes with high costs, so this is the next best thing.Having now used this for a few weeks, I love it, the pipe can be a hassle to get out and put away, plus it’s that time of year the spiders come in and trust me my partner can still scream louder than the air con on full blast !! I fully recommend

The Wifi only supports 2.4 frequency.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 April 2019
UPDATE: Original unit returned. Seller replaced it. FANTASTIC SERVICE from Specialist Electricals. New unit dropped into the network like a dream. Alexa found it no problem renamed and sorted inside 3 minutes.Smart looking unit. Easy to fit together and it also has a remote control and its simple to use. The controls are on the top of the unit so not easily visible unless you are standing over it. Its bigger than I thought but sturdy and well made. You don't get a window kit in the box, but they are easily sourced. Yes its noisy - but thats the nature of aircon units. The WiFi. Ohhhhhh dear! The unit only supports routers on 2.4 frequency - mine was on 5. So it was a game and a half sorting it out. I was rather hoping that once the router was changed, if I turned all my internet devices off and on again they would automatically reconnect. Hahahahaha! 12 out of 15 did NOT. My mobile does not support the Alexa app, and my tablet was iffy about the Igenix app. But hey! 5 hour later, the alexa system responds to voice commands to turn George on/off! Phew!Overall, knowing what I know now, I may have just gone for the model with no wifi. But it works well and a good air con unit. Can't comment on durability!Spoke too soon. Cnnection only lasted 12 hours. Now not connecting at all

Can be loud BUT it is an A/C indoors
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2020
Overall good, Keeps my flat cool when all the indoor doors are open and can really cool my bedroom down by about 4-6 degrees below outside. Remember that this will cause negative pressure in the home/room so air will be pulled from outside that location to equal out the pressure. If you Can get a split system or window system. If you can't fit any of them then this will defo fit the bill. Maybe next time make it a duel hose for the cooling of the working parts.Sleep mode is just the fan on low and the temp gently climbing in the room (i mean the a/c goes from 18-21c) by 1 degree every hour. very good really as it will switch off after 6 hours but by then you have got used to the new temp and are fast asleep. I like it and would by again.

    It’s a good unit but...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 May 2019
Overall it’s a good AC unit, but you can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi and not 5GHz.The next slight issue if it’s for a bedroom for example, the LED control panel on the top of the machine is quite bright, and there’s no option to dim or turn it off, so a small folded towel does the trick of blocking the light. Also, it’s not possible to save a certain position for the horizontal louvres, you have to adjust them to your desired/preferred position/direction each time you turn the machine on, though there is the option of automatic up & down oscillation if you like.Lastly, I don’t agree with the reviews that claim this machine is too loud or very noisy, it’s not silent by any means, just slightly louder than a fan on high, but it’s more than acceptable for my bedroom, and I’m quite a light sleeper...

Bought because I’m now working at home.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2020
I bought this air-con after reading a lot of reviews online and weighing up how much I was willing to pay v functionality/reviews, this one come out top so I invested. I bought it because I am now home working and the room I work in (my bedroom) can reach 30 degrees in the middle of the day which is unbearable (the room does cool at night and we used a fan before). It is noisy and I was worried that people on the phone could hear it (I do outbound call centre work) noisy as in like a jet plane, however I had my manager listen in and he can’t hear it at all and it’s only 1m away from me, I use a good headset too (jabra2). This machine has worked better since buying a white universal hose adapter kit for the window, the room also is cooler if I keep the curtains closed, I have just bought some uv reflective film to see if that can stop some of the heat (Sitting in the dark isn’t fun), the main issue is that we have a sloped roof (like many lofts and new builds) and this is where the heat comes from, I mention this as the main issue I have on a really hot day with the unit is keeping the room cool. The day can start and I’ve had the unit on from 6am and the room is 18 degrees, which is perfect, however as the sun hits the roof the air con struggles to stay at that temp, by 10am its 21 Degrees and in the afternoon it can be 24-25 degrees, now this is cooler than the 30 degrees it would be without it, it is frustrating! I have it on full fan all day next to me. If you point the air con at you it is freezing but even turned slightly away it feels warm and as the actual air temperature never drops till late evening when the sun finally moves off the roof I spend most of the day turning it back and forwards to cool me down. This is the only downside but I think for the money I paid it’s the best I’m going to get and certainly better than nothing. On a middle heat day when it’s not 30 degrees outside I find I can set the air con to full before my shift and then go full fan again during my breaks and lunch (2x 15 mins and a 30 mins) and only sometimes need it on low in the afternoon (you can set this as a routine “Alexa, break time” she will turn off the lights and set the air-con). As for a night time, I have alexa set to a pre bedtime routine and I say “Alexa, one hour to bedtime” and have the air-con come on (and some lights change). The room is around 18/19 within the hour on full Fan, I leave it on a timer for one hour after I get into bed set at 18 degrees , this works well. Even though it is noisy I don’t find it to be an issue as I can’t sleep at all with the heat and it’s more white noise than something that would bother you, I don’t like sleep mode as it is clunky and changes settings as it moves between temperature and speeds and that wakes me up more than a consistent noise. I’ll set out the routine I use below and the temp I get. The dehumidifier aspect works great and even just on air con you can tell the air is MUCH dryer which is great when the outside humidity is 75% and inside should be much less. It’s certainly a nicer room to be in than the other rooms in my house even when it’s not cool as it dry and not all sticky and sweaty, great for a nighttime. I need to try moving it to other rooms to see if I can get them cool and less sticky. I’ll update the review as I do! As for the set up and wifi I had no issues at all, set up in a few minutes and I’m pretty rubbish at that stuff. The connection with Alexa is great and you can set routines, like for in the morning or middle of the night I whisper “Alexa, I’m hot” and it turns on. I’ve not used the remote that comes with it, but I do use the one one my phone, which is great, I can change the fan speeds up and down for example if I want to hear better on the phone or if it’s gets a touch to cool when pointing Directly at me, also good for a nighttime or when I can’t be bothered to ask Alexa. Some people have mentioned the hose length as an issue, it is short but this wasn’t a problem for me as my window is at floor level, however I can see if u even had a window at normal level it could be an issue and it’s rigid plastic and not very flexible. The only downside I can see if that it doesn’t have 24 hour programmable timer, the photos and description say it does but I haven’t figured it out if it is a feature, it has a count down timer but not a programmable one.

    Worth every penny
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 August 2019
People thought I was daft to get it but it cooled me down during this years heat wave and I sleep on the 3rd floor so that's not easy to do. It took a little while but being able to tell Alexa to turn it on or off was brilliant for a peaceful nights sleep. A bit on the nosey side but I've had louder fans and they can't do what this can. The instructions says not to put it on a platform but for best results make sure the units outlet vents are on the same level as your bed sheets otherwise your just cooling your mattress a bit which is pretty pointless.

    Air con.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 November 2019
Loud even in low power mode, but it was worth putting up with for the week or so that it was really useful in the summer. It does blow out fairly cold-feeling air, but barely managed to drop the room temperature (according to a thermostat out of reach of the direct air flow) by more than two degrees after a few hours (just to be clear, that was from 29C to 27C in cooling mode with maximum noise). So with that in mind, it really seems to be no more effective than a large, noisy fan.As for the smarts, considering that it's an extra twenty or thirty pounds for the privilege of being able to be controlled by your friendly local voice assistant, what a let down. The WiFi setup was an annoying, confusing set of contradictions (press some button until the light flashes fast, what? it's already flashing? it never flashes at any other speed. (oh, it's gone off and the app is still not connected. hmmm, press the button again. nothing. try again. oh, it's flashing again, try the app again, nope, not connected. aargh!) Anyway, I have no idea how I made it work, I tried everything I could think of, started again twice, and then it just worked. Then it's on to the smart life app. I recognise that! I have some cheap Chinese made smart switches that use the exact same software. Then realise why I abandoned that idea in the first place: the app seemingly wants all the permissions that exist. Nope, sorry, go away. At least I can turn it off using the echo, if it can hear me over the noise. Meh, pass the remote.

Essential bit of kit in the summer!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2019
Fantastic bit of kit! Not sure what some of the reviews on here are going on about but it's half the size of my other Electrolux one and similar power. 5 minutes to unpack and 10 minutes after that I had it setup on the network and working with my phones app and Alexa voice commands... worked first time. Just read through the very basic instructions and if you want it to cool the temperature make sure you set it to 'cool' not 'auto'. Simples!

    Brilliant!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 August 2018
Like many of the other reviewers, I would agree this is quite a noisy machine but the disadvantage of the noise is made up for by the performance of the product. Do not get me wrong, this does not cool the room like the air conditioning in a car, but it does provide cold air and a welcome break from the extreme heat. As long as you accept it has a few limitations and is not a built-in fixed air conditioning unit then you will not be disappointed but if you want something which is going to cool down the air quickly in a room then this is not the product for you, you probably need to be looking at a built-in split system. The fact that you can control it by Alexa is a good bonus.

Do free standing air conditioners actually work?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2021
Think carefully before buying a portable air conditioner. They work by sucking air in, then blowing the extracted hot air outside and the remaining cold air back into the room. Obviously you will get cold air coming out of the unit, but because it is blowing a huge amount of air outside this air needs to be replaced, and all that happens is a load of warm air from outside the room is sucked back in via gaps in doors and windows etc. It is an extremely inefficient way of cooling a room and even if it is blowing air at 16C, it is sucking in a load of warm air so the temperature never really drops significantly. My sons very small bedroom is 27C which drops to around 24C on max fan speed. You do feel cooler if the cold air is blowing directly onto you, but it does not cool the room down properly. This particular model is good quality, but like all free standing units it suffers from the same problems.

Customer questions and answers

  • Does this need to be vented when in fan mode only? There is a lot of air coming out of the hose.
I would still have the hose vented as you are just putting warm air back into your room!
  • Is there a Minimum height that the exhaust hose must be thru an external wall ?
The minimum advised height is the same height as the exhaust on the rear. For this appliance that would be 300mm.
  • Do the louvres move up and down or does the angle have to be set by hand?
You can set the horizontal louvres to any angle you want manually, or turn on oscillate mode and they move up and down automatically. The vertical louvres to set left and right angle can only be set manually.
  • doesn't this work with amazon echo show
Yes, works with all types of Amazon ,Echo, show, Dot but mine stopped working with the WiFi after a few months, and it was hit and miss when it was working, really not worth the extra money for the WiFi option
