  The Igenix IG9901 is keeping me cool very successfully

  Some of the reviews were a bit negative and I was a bit worried about buying a portable air conditioner at the lower end of the price range. As always with these things, it's tricky to get the air outlet hose outside without making a hole in the wall. Until I get around to having a hole in the wall cut through, I have purchased a Klarstein Window Seal and a Window Vent Outlet. After a bit of effort I set it up. The Igenix IG9901 is keeping me cool very successfully. It's exceeded expectations.

  faulty items

  I brought 1 it was faulty as I had 5 lights that would not go away this means that the motherboard is faultyi got it replaced and that had the same problem so sent that one back toI also got a warning from Amazon as the value is high on this and i returned 2 of them

  A solid air conditioner - But good god the noise.

Initially this was a three star review, but I have been forced to reduce it to one star due to the sheer short life of this product.

  Cooling but noisy

  The controls are clear and work as described.The fan is excessively noisy and makes it almost unsuitable for a typical living room where you want to watch TV.In the bedroom it keeps you awake due to the noise so it's not good for that too.The sleep function doesn't reduce the noise level.The fan speeds seem to be fast, very fast and tornado. If the slower fan speed was indeed slower, the noise level would be significantly reduces.The noise from the compressor is fine, similar to a refrigerator.The cooling function, which is the main reason for purchasing one of these units, works well. Our living room was cooled by 7°C from 25°C to 18°C in around 6 minutes. The room is around 3.5 m x 7 m in size, so just under 25 m² floor area.Due to the noise, we run the unit for a few minutes then switch it off. When the room warms up again we repeat.All in all a good unit spoilt by the level of fan noise.

  We found this device to be extremely efficient at cooling our room during the amazing heat and despite the decibels we could hear ourselves and the TV ok. THe longest period of use over several days was 2 hours, the other few just for one hour each time, but every time - even after being off all night - we found our front room carpet soaked underneath and as it was too heavy to lift and look we could only assume the leak was underneath. The company involved said they had knowledge of another leaking underneath. They told us to tell Amazon for further action.

  Very disappointing

  We bought these when London had a mini heatwave. Very disappointing as aircon units. Hose is short (though I also bought an extension). Whilst it cooled the air immediately around it, it was unable to cool much of an area. This size of unit should have been able to cope with cooling a small terraced house - or at least the downstairs. It failed, no matter how much we tried to seal off the windows (especially the one where hose was fed through) and even the fireplaces. Also extremely noisy.... which would have been acceptable if it had performed well in cooling the house. An expensive purchase and total waste of money.

  Its early days yet and not too hot but I've tried in on a recent warm day (23deg) and it was pumping out very cold air. I use it in the gym witch is 3mX4m. I've tried it in the bedroom with the timer function to come on when I'm sleeping off night shift and it works fine but the fan is noisy, can't get round that so ear plugs in. Does the job, for the price I'm very happy.

  good for small spaces

  Bought it just in time for the heat wave of 2018 for an average sized bedroom (20 m2). It takes approximately 2 hours to get the temperature in the room from 32 degrees to 20 degrees (on coolest setting), and it is rather noisy. The hose coming out of the window can be fiddly to set up, we had to secure it to the window opening, as it can move and fall back into the room, blowing very hot air in. But once set up properly, works a treat.

  Longevity questionable.

  Just after two years, the fan has developed a constant rattling noise. I only use it during the hot summer months and I don't always use it, to save on costs. Yet it has still developed this incessant rattling. I think maybe the spinning fan inside is brushing/hitting something else inside. My previous unit from elsewhere, functioned flawlessly for years. I'd expect better for a unit that is only used for a few months every year. It worked okay before this.

  If vented does the job if you select the correct size for the job.A little noisy but forgot to turn off the kitchen extraction unit, so on own bearable. I was nearly put off purchase by negative misleading reviews and I am glad I relied on customer service and support.If you want one buy one, if you want ultra quiet then spend more for that and don’t complain. I do seal the space and it’s fantastic for the price a two year guarantee and it’s small. The Dehumidifier is an absolute boon it keeps the air clean too, continuous drainage to a bucket gets rid of up-to half a litre per day. Excellent I will be buying another for other rooms for use as a dehumidifier but may select the model with a built in heater the 4 in 1 unit as opposed this 3 in 1 unit. I selected this as it’s more BTU British Thermal Units I think 9000 and therefore better at cooling than the other 4-1 unit I am getting later.
