  Temperatures are rising each year..... you might need one of these by 2025!!

  A panic buy with an element of research.....It was 35 degrees all week and becoming quite unbearable. Due to underlying health conditions, I was struggling even with fans on.....multiple fans!Decided on this as it is Alexa compatible, and i love smart gadgets.So the air con unit itself arrived and was securely packaged. Unpacked, installed the hose unit (well, i stuck it out the window!) and turned her on. There is a 3 minute delay before the compressor cuts in, so don't expect cold air straight away.After a few minutes I was wallowing in cold icy air..... it was amazing!I then installed the app it uses for bluetooth connection. Set the air con unit to search mode and it connected straight away. Then simply added it Alexa as a skill. It has worked flawlessly for a few weeks now.Now, this is an air con unit. It is not going to be silent. I can sleep though it in the same room when it is on max and i am a light sleeper. There is also a night mode so it reduces power - that is quite quiet!It can be moved easily as it has wheels, but will be subject to the hose attached.I have not had the need to use it as a heater, but it does work, so I cannot see why it would not be as effective as the cooler.I am very pleased with this. Not the cheapest, but bought based on reviews and the smart function - there are not many that are smart compatible directly.It is as easy as saying:"Alexa, turn on air con""Alexa, turn air con to 16 degrees"Great buy, but it is a beast. Ideal if not moving it around, albeit on wheels

  Leaks water. Leaks hot air. WiFi pairing mode is mysterious.

  WiFi connectivity instructions missing.Instructions on their website don’t work.Leaks water all over the floor when in aircon mode (no it’s not in dehumidifier mode). So now there’s a towel underneath it. Swappable exhaust isn’t sealed and leaks hot air.Eventually cools the part of the room it’s pointing at but leaves a localised hot area to the side of the aircon. Yes it’s vented properly, the exhaust is sticking out the window and the window is sealed around it.

  Cools the entire downstairs (about 35 square meters) of our 5 bedroom house on hot summer days making work much more tolerable. It's venting through a small top window (using full 1.5m of hoze), sealed up with gaffer tape and a black plastic bag - other smarter and more expensive solutions avaliable.The manufacturers app works well and lets you change all the settings. The Alexa integration works to turn off and on. It says that there is an error of you try to set the temperature - but works anyway. The unit helpfully beeps to acknowledge new commands.

  Amazing Airflex 14000 BTU WiFi

  Great performance from the Airflex 14000 BTU WiFi.Highly recommended.I found the Alexa/Google enabled really handy, a must have.No more sleepless nights.

  quiet at first but gradually gets so noisy it must be turned off, temperature setting totally inaccurate and uncontrollable. All the excuses under the sun from the seller.

  a little noisy but does the job fast. very impressed. if u don't mind the noise in 2 3 hours will cool down 3 rooms of a house of around 35mp

  I have has this for a few months now and love it! it done a great job cooling my open plan kitchen / dinner (30sqm) from 32c down to 22c in about 45 mins. you can set the fan speed (x3) it is a little loud on full speed but i am within a few feet of it. as we are now seeing some cool nights I am now using the heat pump and it is ok but not as warm as I would have expected , it seems hotter when exhausting the AC in cold mode.Looks: this is a big unit at just about 80cm high x 30cm wide and 55cm deep. It is not the prettiest unit and a bit industrial but it does what it says on the tin.running costs: I have a smart meter and it runs around 1.4KW when cooling and 1.2KW when heating so that is about 18p per hour so if like me (a grumpy Dad) not bad on the electricity cost.Value: at £500 it is a bit on the pricey side and although you can find AC units out there a lot cheaper don't forget this has a heat pump.overall: if you are looking solely for a AC unit then I would keep looking! but if you want heating and cooling then this is definitely one for the sort list.

  I've had other AC units before. There is no way this is 14,000 BTU. More like a quater of that. Really puzzling as it certainly is big/heavy enough. But it struggles to lower the temperature of a small room, 12 sqM, by more than a degree.
