- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 June 2016Great fittings but retaining nuts not great!Light fittings themselves are very good quality for the price and do not appear to have let any water in at all. However the supplied dome head retaining nuts started to rust after a few months and progressively got worse - they do not appear to be good quality stainless steel.I recommend purchasing A2 stainless steel dome head cap nuts from eBay (size M4) - I have 10 of these fittings and 20 stainless nuts cost £2.59 inc P&P (eBay item ID: 111316530653)!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 October 2015Light of my life...I've had these lights installed for about a month now and they're looking good.Compared to other up and down lights that I was looking at, these were the cheapest ones that had an IP65 rating. The lights were easy to install; if you have a bit of DIY knowledge then you shouldn't have too many problems.I installed LED GU10 bulbs in the light as they don't come with bulbs. I think this is the best solution as you can then choose whether you want a warm light or a colder light. The top and bottom of the light unscrews to allow you to change the bulb. The two bands that you see in the picture are seals that help give the light its IP65 rating. There are no signs of weather damage as of yet and they still look good.If you're looking for this type of light then I don't think you'll be disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 September 2018Decent value, let's see if they last?Having bought some bright led bulbs , the lamps do look good at night. It's early days so i can't comment on durability as yet. The only slight issue is when installing the lamps its very difficult to ensure they are straight, which is due to the manufacturing. The lamps are manufactured slightly off true , added to the fact you cannot adjust the base screws.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 May 2018Not easy to fit correctly.Very cheap and works fine but not at all easy to fit. The wall fitting is very small so there is very little room for the stiffer cables from the mains supply switch. The fitting has more flexible wiring which can be easily damaged when attempting to fit everything back inside the small fitting. Will buy a better fitting next time with a more substantial mounting. Does look OK when it is finally fitted. Took much longer than expected to fit correctly.

They are great value for money and the quality is good. Would definitely recommend if your looking for something to give you that WOW appeal!!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 June 2017Good quality lightsGood quality lights, but an be tricky to install if you are not mounting them on a 100% flat wallIf the wall is not perfectly flat (like mien which is simulated 'natural stone bricks', then the plastic mounting plate can be twisted when tightened against an uneven wall. This pulls it out of shape slightly. This means that when you come to slide the light over the studs & secure it with the cap head nuts, the stud can be too short to allow the nuts to engage. You have a choice between having a loose-ish light secured to the wall, or having to replace the studs with something longer. A situation I am still trying to experiment with!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2018Great double modern outdoor lightI have needed to put a light by the front door for so long but always avoided having to actually do it. I am by no means an electrician but I can do the very basics. Luckily a live cable was already installed and by following the instructions/a quick google on old coloured live/neutral/earth I was able to fit this light myself. It looks great at night turned on and I am so pleased I finally took the plunge to install!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2017Great price, great productSpot on I have had five of these now for around my garden provides a lovely background lighting that isn't too in your face and is also IP65 (5 water jets) unlike the crap IP44 (4 splashing of water) you get from screwfix etc. Although IP44 is deemed safe for outdoor lighting don't bother and get these IP65 rated lights for piece of mind
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 April 2020Not sure why these get such a good review???For a start they look good but that is the only thing. The unit is compromised of a plastic circular fitting which screws on the wall and then you screw the stainless steel fixture over the top of this. For a start the holes to screw them onto the wall in the plastic part are out. If you line up the holes with a spirit level to create a perfect horizontal plane when you come to screw on the metal part of the fixture you will find that it leans over to the left. The way to do is is to only drill one hole, assemble the unit, adjust it, disassemble, mark the 2nd hole and then drill.Do not assume lining up the two holes into the wall with a spirit level will work.To add insult to injury there is an arrow inside the plastic fitting pointing up with the word TOP underneath it. You can't rely on this to line up the unit. When the unit is square this arrow will be pointing at around 10-15 degrees anti-clockwise.Such a strange way to design something. Why doesn't the arrow tell you how to orientate the unit?Be really careful tightening up the screws from the metal part of the unit into the plastic fitting. Do not over tighten them. The plastic that retains these screws which is a hex shape recess to match to retain and stop the screw from spinning just sheers if you put moderate torque onto it.In terms of looks they look great. In terms of design - it's questionable if the designer ever fitted them.It is possible to loop in/out but you need to use 1mm cable and it's very very tight.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 November 2020Good product but rubbish deliveryHappy with light BUT disappointed that they actually use ROYAL MAIL to deliver. This product would be 5 stars BUT the delivery is abysmal....I would not purchase this item again because of this.. Royal Mail has a LOT to learn about customer service AND they actually stated that the parcel had been delivered when infact they had taken it back to their depot....!!!!! If I pay for delivery then I want it delivered and not have to pick it up myself.....If other delivery services can put parcel in safe place then it's beyond me why Royal Mail can't offer the same service, especially with the competition they have...
Customer questions and answers
- Are these lights suitable for outdoor and indoorThey're suitable for both as far as I'm aware. I us them for indoors and they look great. The only thing I can say is that the light fittings get a bit hot after a while.
- Can a pir be added to the lightsOf course, after all a PIR is just a type of switch.
- Is there a matching downlight available as i would need bothThere is a PIR outside light that is similar but with a sensor. Alternatively, as I have done, I use these lights as a downlight by just putting the bulb on the downside and no bulb in the upside. Hope this helps.
- How do you connect these lights to a photocell for dusk to dawn?Follow the instructions for your photocell, if in doubt a qualified electrician is needed
