- How does the tilt mechanism work to twist the canopy ? Is it worth it ?The tilt mechanism doesn’t twist the canopy, it just changes the vertical angle of the canopy. There is a seperate foot operated mechanism on the base of the main upright that allows you to rotate the whole canopy to a number of different positions. There is a seperate foot operated mechanism on the base of the main upright that allows you to rotate the whole canopy to a number of different positions. A gear system locks the upright firmly in position. We live in Yorkshire and it has been exposed in fairly windy conditions and remained stable. Remember it needs weights to keep it stable.
