- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 June 2018Well Made and Very SturdyWell, what a fab surprise I had...I wasn't expecting much as this product was so cheap but it is really well made. With a hardwood pole, brass fittings and strong fabric, this is very sturdy. I also has the added benefit of a sort of pulley system to put the umbrella part up. Add to that free superfast postage and extremely well packed and its an absolute BARGAIN.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2019Wood too lightweight for purpose - broke three spokes in a light wind and now unusableI have had this parasol for a month or so. I thought it was good value at first although I did think the wood looked a bit lightweight. The first winds we had in the south of England (I would describe as a light to moderate wind) uplifted the parasol (it was placed in the centre hole of a wooden garden table) and I found it broken in three places on the lawn. Whilst I should probably have left it in the closed and not in the open position - I really do think this item is not fit for purpose as I have no way of claiming for it now and will have to buy a new parasol. The wood really does need to be sturdier for a large parasol which is supposedly built for tables with centre holes. You can see that the wood is of the lightest possible quality and that very little force is needed therefor to uplift the parasol if left open - and smash all the spokes when it lands. Hugely disapointed and annoyed at having to fork out for another one (of better quality!!)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 June 2018MehMediocre. It’s very plastic-y and not well-made - lots of hanging threads and poorly machines parts. The photo shows that the hole in the fabric is nowhere near the centre of the frame top so I had to stretch it to fit the cap on top. Quite large with a tall pole and useful mechanism but I doubt it will last long.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 April 2020Roll on summerArrived safely, packaging good and on time. I havn't used it yet but took it out to check all is ok and it seems really good. Looking forward to the summer. Thank you.Update as I have just put up the umbrella on this lovely hot, sunny day and I am impressed with it. It is very sturdy and well made, easy to put up and stay up with the metal pin. Very good price and it looks good when up with it's beautiful green colour. Well made and well pleased.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 June 2017Take diwn in windLovely parasol was very pleased with it until I made mistake of leaving it on on a slightly windy day. The umbrella snapped in three places was very disappointed. However buyer beware if windy take down x
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2018Wooden Black Garden ParasolI originally ordered a green canopy but was informed that this product was over ordered so was offered an alternative product with a black canopy which I accepted. The product is just what we wanted and does the job, ie shades you from the direct sun. Easy to use and store away. The only small point is the pin holding up the canopy is quite thin and could do with being twice as thick therefore being more robust but apart from this small point we are happy with this product. Good value for money and came within 2 days of ordering it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2021You're being deceived...Hardwood pole and frame, well so the listing claimed, yet mine is plastic (or plastic coated softwood to be entirely accurate). It also came with a crack in the main pole, leading into the central brass coupler, thus it was already broken before unpackaging it. The Amazon listing claims the dimensions as 257cm x 257cm, and that just isn't remotely truthful! The diameter is given as 2.4m (240cm)... however, mine is a long way beneath that at just 219cm. I even checked with the seller that I had not been sent the wrong item in any sort of shipping error, but they said that wasn't the case. They then came up with a deceitful formula to explain the smaller than advertised diameter (their calculation methods involved a three dimensional formula with doesn't comply with the internationally accepted geometric rules first established by the ancient Greeks thousands of years hence!) They also claimed that this cheap and nasty parasol was an Amazon best seller, but by that time I was growing accustomed to the deceit!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 August 2017nice and sturdyIt is lovely size, nice and sturdy. Not having the winding handle was an andvantage, as the parasol stayed up all the time, it has three settings for the parasol, really pleased with it. Quick Delivery too, though I did not express it x x
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2018Excellent value, does the job, looks niceEarly days yet (not had any strong winds or rain) but very impressed with this parasol. There's no winch, so less to go wrong and it's easy to open by pulling on the cord. The only negative is I haven't yet managed to put the pin keeping the parasol open on any but the lowest setting - which is perfectly adequate - as it's quite awkward to spread it open further with only one pair of hands; it requires quite a bit of strength and also comes out of the stand, but that's probably because our stand is from our old parasol and a bit too roomy.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 April 2020Cheap, Cheerful But Not Very Good.At £30 plus, I would call this cheap, but it was because it said it was wood that I ordered it. I wanted to replace my old one that I bought in 2002, which is still going strong but had a faded canopy. This one arrived quite quickly, which I was happy with. However, it is very poorly made and will not last. The wooden pole has not been finished smoothly and the split in the wood is visible, the paint job on the pole and spines is terrible and the worst defect is that the top and middle holes cannot be used with the stay-pin as the parasol doesn't push up, that far, even with force exerted. It will do for this season and I will be buying one as soon as I can get one from mainstream shops, after lockdown lets them open.
Customer questions and answers

- What is the canopy made of and is it green? It's made of 100% polyester and is easy to wipe down. It's green
- Which weight base does this need? The Kingfisher 9kg Cast Iron Effect Parasol Base works brilliantly with this parasol
- Hi can you please clarify whether or not the height can be adjusted !There are some holes to adjust the umbrella but not for the height of the whole thing. It was a bit high for me so I cut a foot off the end
