The Falgos parasol is also extremely practical. It's easy to open and close thanks to its anti-reverse crank. The Falgos has a awning at the top that allows air to flow and prevents the parasol from being caught by the wind. Its cross-shape base provides added stability. It can be anchored to the ground or weighed down with slabs.
Quality
The Falgos parasol is very sturdy thanks to its reinforced steel frame and metallic fittings that have been coated with paint suited to outdoor conditions. The crank and riveted joints are made of plastic. This means the parasol is long-lasting and easy to maneuver. The polyester canopy (240g/m²) is coated with a water-repellent treatment which makes the canopy waterproof.

But be aware that you have to buy base weights and with these the base is HUGE. This makes it very difficult to place on your patio.It also sways with the slightest of a breeze and creeks when there's a stronger breeze.It took a lot of messing and furniture moving to place it, I even had to remove one of my patio lights due to the size of the base. My advice would be to double check the measurements given (I didn't) as the whole thing is very big.But when it's not windy it does look great.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 July 2019Good quality, and sturdy, with weights!Size is great, construction is good quality, flex’s well in slight winds but would avoid using in a breeze.Also, you will definitely need to hold the base with weights or something, it will not stand without them.One other thing to mention, we’ve had it about 3 weeks, and the top of the canvas parasol has discoloured pretty badly, you don’t see it when it’s up obviously, but surprised me how much it had. Gone from a nice slate grey to almost beige!For this price it was quite surprising, I would have expected that to happen over the course of years not weeks!But overall, quality is good otherwise.

The base needs to be bought separately. The base is quite big and takes considerable space. We had second thoughts of sending it back..The more we used it, we seem to like it better and are pleased with the purchase.

- How much base weight is required?each quadrant requires filling with sand, but keep shaking it down so it is packed. we have also found that by attaching guy ropes to the 4 corners helps stabalise the parasol when it is windy, so you can stay in the shade, we have a windy garden.
