Customer Review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 November 2018Highly recommended!I don't often write reviews, however I have to say that this radiator exceeded our expectations. I have a workshop which is cold and drafty and I have tried a few other ways of heating the area, none of which have been very satisfying. This heater warms the area (about 20sq m) very nicely. In actual fact I have to to turn the thing down as it is getting too warm! (There are two settings, hi and lo and lo is just fine for a decent size room) I have a temperature gauge and this morning it read 18.2 degrees C, after just 10 minutes the workshop was at a more than comfortable (and constant) 21.5 C. Also, my dog loves it! Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 November 2016Can't score 5The main thing I don't like is the lack of a cover for the brackets... the 2 screws are highly visible at the top of the heater and makes the unit look a bit ugly. See photo, loses one star.. It does not look like a near £200 product and no response from futura when I questioned them about this, which loses another star. The programming is a bit of a headache. When setting a user programme... the heater will not switch off between the time slots, it will go to your main temperature setting that you use during the assumed "on" times then switch to the lower temperature setting that you set on the eco setting.Took a while to figure this out. What I like most about this heater is that it doesn't just go full power all the time until it reaches the temperature, it goes on and off during heat up, and does well to maintain the temperature once it gets there.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 January 2019The Futura Oil Filled Radiator. The Futura Oil Filled Radiator 11 Fin 2.5KW,24 Hour Timer & Thermostat, 2500W, Portable Electric Heater, Adjustable Temperature Control, 3 Power Settings. This Radiator Heater is a lovely bit of kit to have around in case of emergencies only. The one i purchased was for the living room (15ft Long by 13ft across) as just before Christmas Friday 14th December 2018 my boiler was condemned and my place had been without any Heat or Hot Water for some time. Then my brother said why didn't i get an Oil Filled Radiator until my new boiler got installed. I brought my New Radiator £59.99 on Friday 11th January 2019 and my place had now been without heat or hot water for 28 days and believe me when i say, my place was very cold. I couldn't believe my eye's when it turned up just after 2 day as it wasn't expected until the 16th or 17 of January.AssemblyPutting the Radiator together was easy. No tools are needed. Just turn the Radiator up-side down and attach the wheels and your all done as the Radiators main body is already assembled. The controls and timer are very easy to deal with but, do read the manual so you know how they work.HeatAs i said above, my living room is 15ft long and 13ft across. I set the heater to turn on for 7am on the max setting and to turn off at 7pm. This kept the room nice and cosy. There's no noise other than the odd crack as the heater warms up and it heats up fast.CostI'm one of these people who takes a Meter Reading every week and do the sums to know what i spent on energy that week. The Radiator for my living room was on 12 hrs per day for 7 days on the max setting and the heater used 166 units of electric which cost me £20.41 with the VAT at 5% included in the cost. This was about £2 less than what i pay for my gas which is on 24 hrs a day heating the hole house in the winter months. To sum-up, what it cost me to heat my hole house 24 hrs a day for 7 days using Gas cost me £22.17 with 5% VAT included in the cost.To FinishYour better of using gas to heat your home and to use these Radiators as a short term measure only.I must also say that, being without any heat or heat water for 28 day this Radiator was a god send which made waiting for my new boiler a lot easier and more comfortable for me. So a BIG THANK YOU for that. The cost i used is only for my home and just a guide for other customer to go by. I must also point out that, i am a person who really feels the cold, so what is comfortable for me might be a sweet box for someone else. With that said, i hope this will help you when buy your own Radiator.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2017Controls easy to useBought this whilst waiting for new central heating boiler and have been using it to heat the hallway and stairwell of our 3 bed semi during chilly November weather. It has been very effective. Only assembly required was wheels and this was very straightforward. Controls easy to use. Though we haven't been using the timer (by choice) it looks quite easy to adjust the timer pins (its a mechanical timer). Overall good value for money. Compact size and easily moveable .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 December 2018greathad one type oil heater years ago it was not very good. THIS ONE IS UNBELIEVEABLE PUT IT IN CONSEVATORY WE CAN NOW USE THE CONSERVATORY IN WINTER AND IT ALSO HEATS OUR BUNGLOW AS WELL, HAVE NOT HAD HEATING ON SINCE IT ARRIVED I CANNOT FAULT IT BEST BUY I HAD FOR MANY YEARS, GOLD STAR 5 STAR, I WOULD RECOMMEND ,
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 February 2018Just the jobGreat. Just what we need to get the chill off our conservatory. Warms it up even in the hardest frosts in just 10 minutes. Left on low setting on thermostat stops it getting really chilled.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 March 2019Wonderful.Bought this to use in the conservatory during the winter months. Very easy to assemble, thank goodness. Read the instructions for using the timer, easy peasey. I’d bought one 2 years ago but it was only an 6 bar. This one is 11 & really hit the mark. It was delightful at 2am going into the conservatory to be met by heat!!!! I’m sure even the spiders could appreciate it!??
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 January 2019Very impressed and works greatAs there isn't any heating my kitchen (thanks previous owners), I use this to stop it freezing. Great timer on it and it really does warm up (certainly better than my previous one).I also have a Futura flat radiator in the same room and I have to say that I am a great fan of the make.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 June 2021Love this heaterI have a storage heater that cost 3 x the price of the Futura heater I wish i came across this heater first I love the heat that comes from it compared to my storage heater which dries out my eyes. I've yet to get use to the programming.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2019Great heaterItem was delivered before the date stated, so that was a good start. One is used at the bottom of our staircase in a 400 yr old cottage. The heat it lets out on 5 is sufficient to keep the stair case and rooms warm enough. The other is used in an annexe for our friends and family to use.It also produces sufficient heat to warm the place through. This has a large sitting/dining area and the heat can travel up the spiral stair case to a double bedroom. The Annexe has no other independant heating. Good product very good price, would recommend the company and product.
Customer questions and answers
- Does it fill a large room ?Heater will heat the large room provided you set the temperature to max heat level (I mean largw room 18 ft by 14ft)
- What do they cost to run per hour ?Hi, around 15-20 pence but they are thermostatically controlled so they will turn on and off to maintain the temperature set so they are cost efficient.
- Will a 1500w heater heat a 12 x 12 foot room.Yes. You'll need to set aside about a million quid for your electricity bill though if you're going to use this as a main form of heating.
- Can I wall mount this in a landscape position as the height would be a problem under my desk if I were to fit it vertically as shown in the pictures.No. The whole principle of operation relies on it being vertical. Sorry!
