Sustainable Farming
Rattan is ecologically important, growing up to 6 metres a year in areas that cannot support other land products, making it one of the most sustainable materials in furniture manufacturing, compared to hard wood alternatives which can take up to 30 years to grow. Rattan farming provides sustainable income to some of the poorest people living on the fringes of the forests, helping to generate employment and build communities in these farming areas.
Our quality rattan is sourced in Indonesia and we work closely with factories and growers to protect Indonesia's stunning natural landscape. Our frames are then assembled and checked in our manufacturing facility in the UK, providing quality care and service.
