• Is this lamp good for stopmotion?
  The quality of bulb will more relevant to the use of stop motion animation. A diffuse daylight bulb (5000k) is what you generally want. • Would it be a good lamp for painting and drawing under? I am looking for a decent lamp that could imitate natural light (ie. not disturb the colours)x
  There will be a 4W E27 LED bulb included whose light is warm white. If you feel the light too strong or weak, or not natural enough, you can replace the bulb at your will. For your information, please kindly use LED bulb 4W-6W/ energy saving bulb 8W-11W/ incandescent bulb 15W-25W (40W MAX). Hope this helps.

• Diagram instructions are really poor quality. Can't see washers. Are they metal or rubber; big or small; where do I put them.
  Thanks for bringing this to our attention, dear customer. FYI, here's the order: screw head -large metal washer - wood - large rubber washer - wood - small rubber washer - small metal washer - black adjustment turn key.

• Is the grey a matte grey or metallic?
  Somewhere between the two. It’s a slight metallic grey colour - more matte than metallic Not ‘shiny’.
