I think it can if the description on the item states they are dishwasher safe, you could maybe complain to seller/manufacturer. I had had mine quite a long time, so didn't complain, just turned it onto it's base on a double sheet of kitchen roll and let it drain out and hand washed it after that. They aren't as expensive as named brands, and like all makes of twin walled mugs are quite fragile, so don't last forever. That's the trade off to keeping your coffee hot and not burning your fingers I think. Best to hand wash to be honest, tho most will wash in dishwasher successfully. see less
