  I had the same problem after using a pan only about 6 times. The metal screw had stripped the plastic handle's thread without any misuse. I rang tefal as there's a 10 year guarantee on the pan. • Can you use these in the oven? If not, why not ie the rubber can't withstand high temperatures. I need this functionality. Thanks.
  I cannot answer this factually, I am sure you can get that from the Tefal website or product overview. I can say that I have used them in the oven, but at a low temperature only (<160 degr celcius)When I need to cook things in the oven at a higher temperature I would use my SKK or Le Creuset pans.

• Are the lids universal? Can they be used with pans of the same size?
  There is no reason why these pan lids should not be used on other pans of the same diameter.Hope this helps, Jeremy.
