Customer questions and answers

  • Our plinth is only 9cm high. Will this heater fit if we change the grill front for a smaller one, please?
This item is not suitable for fitting to your 9 cm plinth. The height of this plinth heater is about 10 cm. the front grill is about 12 cms.
  • Could this be used with a timer? i.e. does it start running when you plug it in, or do you have to press something on the remote control?
I haven't tried this but it does seem to power up in 'standby' mode when it's first plugged in, so you would have to start it with the remote control.
  • Hi, what BTU does this heater have?
Generally btu refers to gas appliances most appliance heat ratings are now in kilowatts. So you should look at the kilowatt rating and see if that is sufficient for your needs.
  • does the plinth heater have a stainless steel plinth
Like Henry Ford said "You can have any colour as long as it's white!" (black?). I have got white! I wanted stainless steel also (with a remote control. I'm blowed if I can find one (except at an alarming price!)! I've got some heat proof spray paint on order and am going to create my own 'stainless' look. In answer to another reviewer, yes the front does come off with four self-tappers. You would need to do this before fitting otherwise the screws are concealed. Fitting into a 90mm plinth?? NO! The min. is 120 - you will get severe restriction on the airflow and would probably catch fire in due course. see less
