I am in possession of my third unit (two swapped out under warranty - kudos to the vendor,) and they are indeed silent to start with but after a few months use, all three have developed and audible (50Hz) hum when the heat cycle operates often setting off a "squeak" at around 900Hz which is presumably something in the casing or mounting resonating in sympathy. The noise is very quiet, but nonetheless audible in an otherwise silent room such as my bedroom and I find it particularly irritating when trying to sleep. Some nights it's been lucky I haven't kicked it off the wall. For a product with a premium price, when advertised as "silent," in my humble opinion, it ought actually be silent forever, not just when new and not just "very quiet." Receiving one faulty unit is unfortunate, two is a coincidence, three is a pattern. I've given up hope of this product ever living up to specification and will be replacing with something else as soon as I can afford to. see less
  • How much are these to run
Hello Thanks for messaging in! … see more Hello Thanks for messaging in! The running costs are pretty much impossible to calculate in advance. I've seen a few people try to give figures in their marketing, but there's not much value in the figures stated and they are largely misleading.  The running cost is different for each circumstance. It depends on the room size and level of insulation. This affects the amount of heat, not only, needed to warm the space but also how much heat is lost. In addition, the most important factor is your energy tariff  (the price you pay per kwh).   Once the room reaches the thermostat's set temperature, the heater will switch off. In this sate no power is consumed. The insulation and how well the heat is contained impact on the amount of time the heater is heating. Obviously, the less time the heater is heating for, the cheaper it will be to run.   A 1000w heater can consume a maximum of 21w each hour. If we use the average energy tariff, around 15p per kwh, as an example. This would cost 15p for the hour - Assuming the heater is on for the full hour. However it's unlikely the heater would be on for that long. Once the room reaches temperature the heater switches off. If it was heating on for 30 mins that figure would drop down to 7.5p and so forth. This principle applies for every heater, whether it costs £100 or £1000. How well the room retains the heat determines how often the heater will have to be on for.   Given this, for the initial hour the heater is turned on, the running costs are higher than the following hours. As for the first hour, the heater would be on for longer as it's increasing the temperature. Whereas, for the hours that proceed the heater is only maintaining the temperature. Maintaining the temperature should require the heater to not be on for as long. Thus for these hours, the running cost will be lower.    In addition, electric heaters do not have efficiency ratings. If you see something advertised as A, A+ etc this is misleading as this type of rating does not apply to electric heaters. This is because they are direct acting, so near enough 100% of the power put in is used to heat. Other than the display there's nothing else the energy can be used on. Whereas with a light bulb (for example) 80% of power is used to illuminate the light and 20% is wasted as heat. For this reason A,B,C ratings don't apply to heaters. The only rating which applies to heaters is erplot20 compliance, which this heater complies to. Kind regards Guy see less
  • Hi 2000W panel heater, what is the size room it will heat the room for 24/7
We use ours in a snooker room which is approx 20 x 15 ft. The room is not that well insulated and it’s reasonably warm after a couple of hours
