- Which weights would you recommend with this product? That are not to be filled with water or sandHeavy ones! I’ve got the water, sand and cross stand. I’ve had it for over 12months now and it doesn’t budge, admittedly it was down in winter. The sand and water weights are roughly 20-25kg each and I have 4 of them. Brilliant umbrella, I would highly recommend getting the cover for it for night time and storage
- what height are the crosses on the base. anyone recommend weights that will fit flush with the top edgeI can measure them, but honestly I didn’t trust this base, so fabricated something from steel and cast iron a lot more substantial. IMHO anything that would fit the supplied base (eg concrete/water-filled) simply won’t be heavy enough. Even then, I have fitted tie down straps on each corner of the umbrella as well.
- Is it possible to change the orientation so that the canopy can be either 2.5m or 3m parallel to a sofa?Only by the position of the base in relation to the sofa. To be quite factual, there is such a small difference between the canopy shadow that is created by the canopy rectangle that you will probably find this isn't an issue. - We are having our whole patio done, would it be possible to set a base for this permanently in the ground with cement? If so what diameter ?Not sure. Ours is held in place with weights
